Koo Jun-yeop shared his feelings on the first anniversary of his late wife Go Seo-hee-won's passing. The KBS 2TV variety show "Celebrity Soldier's Secret" revealed some of the content to be aired on February 3, updating viewers on Koo Jun-yeop's recent situation. The released footage showed Koo Jun-yeop visiting the grave of the late Go Seo-hee-won. He had set up a folding chair in front of the tombstone and was sitting there. The tombstone was engraved with the phrase, "Remember, Together, Forever. I love you forever - Junjun." This phrase was also the couple tattoo they had together after announcing their marriage.

MC Jang Do-yeon shared in a conversation with the production team that Koo Jun-yeop mentioned he would visit the grave even in rainy weather. Jang Do-yeon said, "Koo Jun-yeop was unable to speak for a long time and answered all questions only with tears," adding, "He did not want to show such a broken side to the public." Her remarks made the atmosphere solemn, with cast members and staff shedding tears.

The late Go Seo-hee-won met Koo Jun-yeop in 1998, dated for a year, and then broke up. Later, Seo-hee-won married Wang So-bi and had one son and one daughter but divorced in 2021. Koo Jun-yeop and Seo-hee-won reunited after more than 20 years and officially became a married couple in 2022. However, Seo-hee-won passed away last February during a family trip due to pneumonia and sepsis caused by the flu. After his wife's death, Koo Jun-yeop expressed, "I am going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain, feeling as if my intestines are being torn apart."

Koo Jun-yeop visits Seo-hee-won's gravesite daily and guards it despite heavy rain and scorching heat. He soothes his longing by placing coffee and bread his wife liked, as well as noodles he cooked himself, at the grave. Koo Jun-yeop's health condition is serious; his sister-in-law Seo Hee-je reported that he has lost more than 10 kg because he hardly eats since his wife's death. Seo Hee-je said, "My brother-in-law goes to Jinbao Mountain, where my sister is buried, every day to eat," adding, "I hope someday we can hold an exhibition with those pictures."

Koo Jun-yeop and the late Go Seo-hee-won were lovers who separated 20 years ago but dramatically reunited in 2022 and became a beloved couple. However, Seo-hee-won's sudden passing last February plunged Koo Jun-yeop into deep sorrow. To mark the first anniversary of his wife's passing, he plans to erect a memorial statue he personally designed at the gravesite. This statue will be placed at the Jinbao Mountain cemetery in Taiwan, with the unveiling ceremony scheduled for February 2. Koo Jun-yeop, along with the deceased's family and acquaintances, will attend the ceremony.

Koo Jun-yeop's story has moved many fans, and his grief was emotionally evident at the filming site. He remains deeply mournful over the loss of his wife, raising growing concerns about his health and psychological state.
