SM Entertainment's global concert brand 'SMTOWN LIVE' successfully concluded in Fukuoka, Japan. 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025-26 in FUKUOKA' was held on January 31 and February 1 at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, marking the first SMTOWN LIVE concert held in Fukuoka, with all seats sold out on both days. A total of 70,000 spectators attended the concert, which was simultaneously screened live in 118 theaters across Japan. The performance on the 1st was broadcast live online via Japan's KNTV, Beyond LIVE, and Weverse.
Fans of various age groups gathered at the venue, experiencing SM's unique heritage firsthand. It was impressive to see family groups enjoying the concert while holding light sticks. Ms. Yoko Sato, who has long supported TVXQ, and her daughter Mio Sato, a fan of NCT WISH, said, "This is the first time mother and daughter are watching 'SMTOWN LIVE' together, so we barely slept and were very excited. We are really happy to see it today and will enjoy it to the fullest."
The concert featured a full lineup of SM artists including Kangta, TVXQ, Super Junior, Jo Mi, Girls' Generation Hyoyeon, SHINee Minho, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, NCT WISH, Hots to Heart, Seunghan & Soul, SMTR25, and more. The show lasted over four hours, presenting a variety of stages including group, solo, unit, and collaboration performances. Hit songs by SM artists such as Kangta's "Eyes On You," TVXQ's "Rising Sun," Super Junior's "Express Mode," and Girls' Generation Hyoyeon's "Retro Romance" consecutively drew enthusiastic responses from the audience.
Notably, the concert included Japanese versions of songs for local fans, such as TVXQ's "MIROTIC," NCT Yuta's "Off The Mask," and NCT WISH's "Hello Mellow." EXO and NCT Taeyong returned to the SMTOWN LIVE stage after a long time, receiving passionate cheers. New stage combinations like Hyoyeon and Jueun's "Second" and NCT U's "Misfit" also garnered great applause from the audience.
f(x)'s "Chu~♡" and Saja Boys' cover of "Soda Pop" further elevated the atmosphere at the venue. Mr. Kento Yamada, a fan of aespa, and Ms. Yui Tanaka, a fan of RIIZE, shared, "It was really great to see new stages that are hard to see usually. Being able to enjoy other SM artists' performances made it an even more special moment." This collaboration stage is scheduled to be seen again at the Bangkok concert.
Finally, all performers took the stage to greet the audience up close and passionately sang SMTOWN LIVE's signature song "Hope from KWANGYA." This moment reaffirmed the unwavering SM family spirit that has lasted for over 30 years.
SM is conducting the 30th anniversary 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025-26' tour starting in Seoul in January 2025, followed by Mexico City, LA, London, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. The finale is scheduled to take place on February 14 at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
