The music scene in February is energized by the comebacks of major idol groups. Global top-tier teams and groups recognized as the next generation are announcing new releases, heightening the excitement in the K-pop market.
The most notable team is the girl group Black Pink. Black Pink will release a new full-group song on the 27th. This is the first work featuring all four members together after a long hiatus since their second full album, "Born Pink." The album is reported to have undergone final touches to enhance its completeness. Having maintained their presence through solo activities during the break, fans have high expectations for their full-group comeback.
The girl group IVE is also preparing to return to the music scene. IVE will release a pre-release track, "Bang Bang," on the 9th, followed by their second full album, "Revive Plus," on the 23rd. This is their first new release in about six months since last year's mini-album. The new album will include solo songs by each member, which were first revealed on concert stages. After completing their comeback activities, they plan to start their second world tour, meeting fans in major Asian cities.
The movements of rookie girl groups are also active. Hearts to Hearts will release a digital single at the end of this month. After debuting with their album last October, they are accelerating their activities by releasing new songs relatively quickly. Before their comeback, they held their first fan meeting in Seoul and have scheduled overseas events such as a North American premiere showcase and a fan meeting in Jakarta in March.
Boy groups are also maintaining active schedules. ATEEZ will release their 13th mini-album, "Golden Hour: Part 4," on the 6th. This album includes five tracks, featuring the title song "Adrenaline." TWS and ZEROBASEONE are also joining the comeback lineup to enliven the music scene. TWS will release a digital single, "Today We Meet Again," on the 9th. This song is a re-recorded Korean version of the title track "Nice to See You Again" from their Japanese debut single released last year. ZEROBASEONE started activities early by releasing a special limited album on the 2nd.
A music industry insider stated, "February is a period to gauge the direction of activities for the first half of the year, so major teams are launching their comebacks simultaneously." They added, "The early-year comeback market is a stage that tests both fandom cohesion and public response."
In this way, February's music scene has become a time when many groups strengthen communication with fans through new releases and activities. Each group's comeback intensifies competition in the K-pop market and raises fans' anticipation.
