Park Ji-hoon Captures the Screen with 'The Man Who Lives with the King'... Notable Transformation into Danjong

Actor Park Ji-hoon delivered a powerful presence playing Danjong Lee Hong-wi in the film "The Man Who Lives with the King." Set to be released on the 4th, this work is set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457 and depicts the story of village chief Eom Heung-do, who voluntarily exiled himself for the revival of the village, and the young dethroned king Danjong Lee Hong-wi living together. It has attracted attention even before its release for being the first Korean film to focus on the hidden story of Danjong.

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system (KOBIS) on the morning of the 3rd, "The Man Who Lives with the King" ranked first in real-time reservation rate with 28.2%. The number of reserved viewers reached 120,467, and the cumulative audience number is 27,145. Expectations are high for the character Danjong Lee Hong-wi played by Park Ji-hoon.

Starting with JTBC drama "Joseon Marriage Agency Flower Crew," Park Ji-hoon has continuously transformed his acting by portraying characters with unique charms in various works. Especially, he established himself as a "trusted actor" by showing a strong presence as Yeon Si-eun in the "Weak Hero" series. In this film, he portrayed Danjong Lee Hong-wi not as a mere historical symbol but as a human being with emotions and a growth narrative. Approaching the character with restrained emotions and a weighty attitude contributed to enhancing the immersion of the story.

Park Ji-hoon's eye acting stands out in this work as well. In the released trailers, stills, and short-form videos, his eyes convey fear, resignation, and the will to live again, delivering the character's inner situation and emotions without dialogue. This played a key role in convincingly completing Danjong's loneliness and dignity.

The relationships with the characters around Danjong in the film are also an important axis of Park Ji-hoon's acting. He delicately expressed emotional changes according to situations in relationships with various characters such as village chief Eom Heung-do played by Yoo Hae-jin, Maehwa, Prince Geumseong, and Han Myeong-hoe. Especially, the relationship with Yoo Hae-jin is depicted as an emotional connection that embraces and helps each other grow beyond a simple role contrast. The natural chemistry with experienced senior actors like Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Lee Joon-hyuk also creates a profound synergy.

"The Man Who Lives with the King" clearly shows Park Ji-hoon's current position as an actor. In this work, Park Ji-hoon fully completed the character Danjong Lee Hong-wi as his own, proving his leap forward as an actor.
