Comedian Park Na-rae will appear on the variety show "Destiny War 49." On the 4th, Walt Disney Company Korea confirmed the release date of the Disney+ original variety show "Destiny War 49" as February 11 and released the poster and trailer. Park Na-rae is included in the MC lineup of the program and will appear alongside Jun Hyun-moo, Park Ha-sun, Shin Dong, and Kang Ji-young.
"Destiny War 49" is a survival program where 49 fortune tellers test their fate through various missions. Walt Disney Company Korea stated that this program will break the mold of existing survival variety shows, delivering fresh shocks and fun with a new format. The released trailer includes various settings, from missions to find a person who was actually struck by lightning to missions that read the flow of money.
Following the news of Park Na-rae's appearance, some netizens showed mixed reactions regarding her comeback. Some argued that since the program was pre-produced, it was inevitable to release it. They commented, "If it's something already filmed, it wouldn't count as a comeback," and "They'll probably edit it as much as possible." On the other hand, some believed that since Park Na-rae is still not free from various controversies, this appearance might be a way to gauge the timing of her comeback.
Park Na-rae's side told Star News on the same day, "There are no plans for activities. There are parts that need to be sorted out currently." They added, "The pre-produced program was released as planned. There are no plans for future activities. This is not a comeback." The "Destiny War 49" team explained Park Na-rae's appearance by saying, "Since it is a survival variety show involving participants, Park Na-rae appears on the broadcast as one of several panelists."
Since the end of last year, Park Na-rae has been engaged in a legal battle with her former manager. The former manager accused Park Na-rae of charges including special injury, defamation, violation of the Information and Communications Network Act, and embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. In response, Park Na-rae countersued for attempted extortion and embezzlement in the course of business, claiming that the former manager demanded a large sum of money based on false allegations.
Recently, Park Na-rae was seen learning how to make makgeolli at a brewing academy. She left a brief greeting, saying, "I have to do something," and an accompanying acquaintance said, "Park Na-rae is trying to endure a difficult time and is preparing to sincerely cooperate with future police investigations."
This appearance on "Destiny War 49" marks Park Na-rae's comeback two months after her hiatus, drawing attention to her future moves. Park Na-rae is currently continuing her legal battle with her former manager, which has led to ongoing controversy regarding her broadcasting activities. Attention is focused on what kind of response "Destiny War 49" will receive.
