Actor Bae In-hyuk showcased outstanding character portrayal in tvN's new Wednesday-Thursday drama "I'll Give You the Universe." In the first episode aired on February 4, Bae In-hyuk played the role of Seon Tae-hyung, naturally expressing a complex inner world beneath a cold exterior, enhancing the immersion of the drama.
The premiere depicted a powerful first encounter rooted in the bad relationship between Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin (played by Noh Jeong-ui). The two characters met through a secondhand lighting transaction, creating tension through their opposition as seller and buyer. Tae-hyung engaged in a tense standoff as the seller trying to get the right price and the buyer wanting to pay less.
Later, Tae-hyung accidentally learns that the person about to marry Hyun-jin's sister is his own brother Woo-jin (played by Ha Jun). At the meeting between families, Tae-hyung's crooked attitude and sharp words cooled the atmosphere, showing a strong presence. However, he also revealed his wounded inner feelings upon realizing Woo-jin had never mentioned family matters. Additionally, after hearing about Woo-jin's accident, Tae-hyung took on the role of the chief mourner at the funeral and quietly cared for Hyun-jin, who was hurt because of him.
Bae In-hyuk delicately portrayed Tae-hyung's side, who appears prickly and cold on the outside but has a warm heart inside. At the end of the broadcast, the line "Let's not see each other again" was followed by a preview showing Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin meeting again, raising anticipation for the upcoming developments.
"I'll Give You the Universe" airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:40 PM. Bae In-hyuk gradually gained recognition with his striking visuals and acting skills in web movies and dramas such as "Love Buzz," "Yeonnam-dong Kiss Scene," and "XX." Since then, he has captivated viewers with compelling characters in various works including "My Roommate Is a Gumiho," "Why Oh Soo-jae?," "Cheer Up," "The Contract Marriage of Lady Yeolnyeo," and "Check-in Hanyang." Bae In-hyuk is steadily building a solid filmography.
