Singer Park Seo-jin's insomnia has relapsed due to the suspicious diagnosis of thyroid cancer in his mother. His mother was suspected of another cancer just two years after being declared cured of cervical cancer.
In the episode of KBS 2TV's "Men Who Do Housework Season 2" airing on the 7th, Park Seo-jin is shown suffering from severe anxiety and worry over his family's health issues. Park Seo-jin revealed, "One day, my mother suddenly lost her voice and had a hoarse sound. We found a lump on her neck and went to the hospital, where she was suspected of having thyroid cancer. When they recommended a biopsy, it felt like I was hit on the head."
The suspicious diagnosis of thyroid cancer came only two years after his mother was declared cured of cervical cancer. Remembering his mother's past battle with illness, Park Seo-jin expressed deep worry and anxiety. On top of that, his father's cerebrovascular disease and his younger sister Hyo-jung's health problems overlapped, causing his insomnia to worsen recently.
The episode also reveals conflict between Park Seo-jin and his sister Hyo-jung. Park Seo-jin found Hyo-jung eating late-night snacks, and a conversation that started out of concern gradually escalated into a sharp argument. Hurt, Hyo-jung eventually declared she would leave the house and sat alone at a bus stop, shedding tears.
Upon hearing this news, their parents hurriedly came to Seoul from Samcheonpo. Amid rising tension within the family, viewers can see on the show whether Park Seo-jin can regain peace of mind after many sleepless nights.
Meanwhile, the broadcast time of "Men Who Do Housework" will change to 9:20 PM every Saturday starting from the 28th.
