Song Dae-kwan 1st Anniversary Special 'Golden Friday'... Tae Jin-ah "Full of longing"

"Geumta-neun Geumyoil" held a special broadcast commemorating the first anniversary of the late Song Dae-kwan. In the 7th episode aired on the 6th, Tae Jin-ah took time to reminisce about Song Dae-kwan. This broadcast aired a day before Song Dae-kwan's first anniversary, making its significance even deeper. The episode recorded a nationwide Nielsen Korea viewership rating of 4.9%, maintaining the number one spot for daily general programming and cable ratings for seven consecutive weeks. The peak moment rating reached 5.3%.

Tae Jin-ah expressed deep respect and longing for Song Dae-kwan. He said, "I never thought of my senior as a rival. He sang better than me, won many awards, and was crowned the king of singers before me. He was always a step ahead." He added, "But my senior always thought of me as a rival," recalling their special relationship. Tae Jin-ah remembered Song Dae-kwan as his most beloved companion and answered "Yes" when asked if he thought of him from time to time.

The story of Kim Yong Bin was also highlighted in the broadcast. Kim Yong Bin shared the story of visiting Tae Jin-ah as a child to learn singing. Tae Jin-ah was also close to Kim Yong Bin's grandmother and was known to have watched over Kim Yong Bin's growth. When Kim Yong Bin was announced as the final winner of 'Mr. Trot 3,' it is said that Tae Jin-ah was so happy that even his son, Eru, was surprised.

Kim Yong Bin chose Tae Jin-ah's song "Your Tears" and captivated the audience with a heartfelt voice on stage. Tae Jin-ah expressed his overwhelming emotions, saying, "I am grateful and proud that Yong-bin has grown like this and stands on the same stage. It brings tears to my eyes." Kim Yong Bin added another golden star by winning against Son Bin Ah in the death match that day.

Miss Cheon Rok Dam scored a perfect 100 by performing Tae Jin-ah's representative song "Ok-gyeong-i" in her own style. This stage stopped the solo leader Chun Gil, who held five golden stars, from advancing further. After passionately singing Song Dae-kwan's "Four Beats," Park Sang-chul said, "The love my senior gave me when he was alive was immense," conveying his heartfelt feelings.

Jin Jung Seo-joo continued her winning streak by defeating Bae Ah-hyun once again following last week. That day, Jung Seo-joo performed Song Dae-kwan's "I'm Alone" with a clear tone, earning 98 points and successfully adding a golden star. Bae Ah-hyun chose Tae Jin-ah's "Fool," but made a mistake by forgetting the lyrics during the performance, resulting in a score of 92. Jung Seo-joo entered the top ranks, standing shoulder to shoulder with the solo leader Chun Gil, who holds five golden stars.

Miss Oh Yoo-jin and Choi Jae Myeong earned golden stars with scores of 99 and 98 respectively. Oh Yoo-jin moved the audience with a mature emotional rendition of Tae Jin-ah's "Samo-gok," while Choi Jae Myeong interpreted Song Dae-kwan's "Sunrise Day" in a traditional Korean music style, delivering an energetic and lively performance. While Kim Yong Bin and Jung Seo-joo showed strong momentum climbing into the top ranks, Chun Gil, Son Bin Ah, and Bae Ah-hyun showed somewhat sluggish performances.

Choi Jae Myeong kept the flame of hope alive by earning one golden star, but Choo Hyeokjin failed to escape the Must Zone. "Geumta-neun Geumyoil" airs every Friday night at 10 PM, attracting viewers' attention. Next week's broadcast will focus on who will take a step closer to the Golden Cup.
