In episode 8 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "I'm a Human From Today," which aired on the 7th, the romance between the main characters Eun-ho (played by Kim Hye-yoon) and Kang Si-yeol (played by Lomon) officially begins. In this episode, Eun-ho confesses to Kang Si-yeol, "When I see you, my heart races without any reason. I think this is what humans call romantic feelings. I guess I have to date you." Kang Si-yeol, flustered, replies, "Do you even know what you're saying?"
Eun-ho suggests dating Kang Si-yeol, saying, "I've tried everything that seemed fun while living in the human world, except for one thing: dating." Kang Si-yeol is initially confused but accepts Eun-ho's determination, and they start dating. Eun-ho asks Kang Si-yeol for a pillow arm and to feed her, and he agrees to her requests.
Eun-ho then asks Kang Si-yeol, "But whether you feed me or I feed myself, the taste is the same. Isn't that a problem? Am I doing something wrong?" and suggests holding hands. Kang Si-yeol fidgets with her hand, visibly moved. Eun-ho then invites Kang Si-yeol on an evening date, and they head to Namsan.
During their date at Namsan, Kang Si-yeol laughs and says, "You kept talking about dates since yesterday, so I thought it would be something special, but the best you could come up with is Namsan? How cliché." Eun-ho replies, "What I want isn't something novel. It's a typical, cliché romance. So where else is there a better date course than this?" When Kang Si-yeol asks if there was a date she wanted to try, Eun-ho reaches out her hand and says, "Isn't this the date you wanted earlier? Let's hold hands and go down."
As they walk hand in hand, Kang Si-yeol asks, "If we go back to how things were, will you erase my memories too?" Eun-ho firmly answers, "I will. To me, human friends are disposable." Kang Si-yeol looks hurt, and Eun-ho explains, "If you want to live an ordinary life, it's better not to have memories of fate being overturned and a gumiho becoming human. Erasing your memories is my last gift to you."
Kang Si-yeol then says, "If you erase my memories as you please and only you remember this moment, doesn't that mean I can do this much as I please too?" and kisses Eun-ho. This scene marks a deepening of their relationship.
In this episode, Eun-ho informs Kang Si-yeol about dating, and he cooperates. Eun-ho says, "There's no need for that now. Since I've become human, I want to try dating you until we go back to how things were." Kang Si-yeol asks, "Are you confessing to me now?" but Eun-ho replies firmly, "It's not a confession, it's a notification."
Eun-ho instructs Kang Si-yeol, "Don't bother questioning and just cooperate," and winks, saying, "Please take care of me, honey." This adds humor to their relationship and brings laughter to viewers.
In the latter part of the episode, Eun-ho expresses her desire to go to a nursing home, and news of her grandfather's death is delivered, showing her attempt to correct past mistakes. Kang Si-yeol decides to earn money through soccer but struggles as his body doesn't keep up. Eun-ho shouts at him, "Get a grip. You're losing now," cheering him on.
Ultimately, through their date at Namsan, the two confirm their feelings for each other. Kang Si-yeol kisses Eun-ho, saying, "If only you remember this moment, doesn't that mean I can do this much as I please too?" This moment marks a significant development in their relationship, leaving a strong impression on viewers.
"I'm a Human From Today" explores deep reflections on human emotions and relationships through the romance of Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol. Viewers are eagerly anticipating how their story will unfold.
