BTS V showed a mature fan culture through a meeting with fans in Portugal. BTS departed for Portugal on the 2nd via Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for an overseas schedule. They left the airport together as a complete group for the first time in about four years.
In Portugal, V visited a bakery specializing in tarts. A fan working at the store immediately recognized V but did not speak to him to avoid disturbing him. This fan posted a photo taken with V on social media, saying, "I just met Taehyung, but why does he look like he was created by AI?" In the photo, V had his hand on the fan's shoulder and was smiling.
The fan explained the situation of the meeting in detail on social media. He said, "While working, I saw two men with their heads down, and at that moment, I recognized V." He added that the manager ordered pastel de nata and Coca-Cola Zero, and V took pictures of the tarts. The fan said, "While the manager was ordering, I didn't say anything. When V finished ordering and was about to leave, I said, 'Goodbye, Taehyung,' but he didn't hear me." When the manager conveyed the fan's greeting, V turned around, said, "Hello, thank you," and smiled.
The meeting did not end there. After finishing the order, V headed to the tourist area but returned to the store shortly after to get a napkin. The fan said V received the napkin, gave him a slight hug, and said, "Thank you very much." The fan explained, "I said I had been an ARMY for nine years and was planning to attend the BTS concert in Madrid. Then Taehyung asked, 'Would you like to take a picture together?'" The fan added that V smiled brightly, expressed his gratitude, said goodbye, and left.
The fan who recognized V but quietly watched without disturbing him, and V who directly expressed his thanks and suggested taking a photo, left an example of a mature fan culture for fans. This incident shows how BTS's fandom, ARMY, can develop fan culture through positive interactions. It is recorded as a case that highlights respect and consideration between fans and artists.
