BTS Jin Reveals Why He’s Stepping Back from "Dad Jokes"

Jin, a member of BTS, brought laughter to fans by opening up about an unexpected struggle with his trademark "dad jokes".

In a past video titled "Spotify Happy House" on Spotify Korea’s official YouTube channel, Jin spent time alone and took on various challenges.

When asked if he had learned any new dad jokes recently, Jin expressed disappointment, saying, "The internet used to have plenty, but now 'ajussis' (middle-aged men) are rare, so there aren't any". He offered a quirky yet convincing analysis: "These days, ajussis are using MZ Generation slang, so they don't use dad jokes much anymore. There's nowhere to get new inspiration".

Instead of dad jokes, Jin shared that he has been learning new slang, specifically mentioning the word "ping". Looking at the kkakdugi (radish kimchi) he made himself, he showcased his "Worldwide Handsome" wit by improvising lyrics: "I made kkakdugi, this ping, deliciously ping (나 깍두기 만들고 이 핑 맛있게 핑)".

Meanwhile, BTS will release their 5th studio album, "ARIRANG," on March 20 at 1 PM. The new album features 14 tracks that showcase the team's identity and the "BTS of today." Following the release, they will hold "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG" at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st. The event will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix.
