The group Monsta X has announced the beginning of a new decade. They are continuing on a path far from the so-called "7th-year jinx." Monsta X recently reaffirmed their presence through a world tour. With most members having completed their mandatory military service, they are preparing for a new leap based on the experience accumulated over the past 10 years.
From January 30 to February 1, Monsta X held the "2026 Monsta X World Tour 'THE X : NEXUS'" at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul. They resumed their world tour after about four years and appeared again at the KSPO Dome, known as the holy ground for K-pop idols, after six months. Several title tracks, including the opening song "DRAMARAMA," "Love Killa," and "Rush Hour," were performed in a medley format.
Since their debut in 2015, Monsta X has continuously expanded their musical spectrum. They have not relied on past hits but continued new musical experiments by releasing the digital album "NOW PROJECT vol.1" and the mini-album "THE X" last year. "NOW PROJECT vol.1" ranked number one on the iTunes Top K-Pop Music Album charts in eight countries, including the United States, France, and Germany. Additionally, it entered the top 10 on the iTunes Top K-Pop Music Album charts in 18 countries and regions.
"THE X" is an album that showcases Monsta X's musical growth, with Hyungwon, Jooheon, and I.M participating as producers. The album recorded first-week sales of 427,000 copies, achieving their "highest career peak" in their 10th year since debut. "THE X" also performed well on the U.S. Billboard charts, appearing on several charts such as the Billboard 200, World Albums, Independent Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and Billboard Artist 100.
The year 2026 marks a new leap for Monsta X. After completing the "THE X : NEXUS" tour, the youngest member I.M enlisted in the military. However, the gap caused by military service is no longer an obstacle for them. Other members have previously continued activities appropriately while fulfilling their military duties.
Regarding this concert, Monsta X stated, "We prepared this performance focusing on 'What kind of stage would MONBEBE (official fandom) like?' We felt that MONBEBE really enjoyed it on stage, which made us proud. We are grateful for the passionate support and cheers that made the concert enjoyable, and this performance was completed thanks to MONBEBE." They added, "Since this was I.M's last stage before enlistment, we wanted to finish it meaningfully, and we are glad that we performed sincerely and happily. In 2026, Monsta X will continue to run without rest, so please look forward to and support us. We love you, MONBEBE!"
The new 10-year journey of Monsta X and MONBEBE has now begun. They plan to continue communicating with fans through ongoing activities in the future.
