Hong Geumbo, played by Park Shin-hye, decided to steal the slush fund of Kang Pil-beom, portrayed by Lee Deok-hwa. In episode 9 of the tvN drama "Undercover Miss Hong," which aired on February 14, Hong Geumbo proposed to Go Bok-hee that they steal the slush fund together. Hong Geumbo expressed anger after discovering that Shin Jung-woo had deliberately taken some of her documents. Yoon Jae-beom ordered Hong Geumbo to end the operation and return to work, mentioning the possibility that Shin Jung-woo was secretly helping her.
Hong Geumbo was astonished to learn that Shin Jung-woo had tried to withdraw a retaliatory lawsuit against her from nine years ago. She speculated that Shin Jung-woo would not give up on the marriage proposal involving Kang Pil-beom's daughter, Kang Nora. When the company faced a crisis, Kang Pil-beom secured a Swiss account under Kang Nora's name and called her from the dormitory to his home.
Shin Jung-woo planned to acquire Hanmin Securities through DK Ventures. Kang Pil-beom began restructuring by using Shin Jung-woo. Kim Mi-sook sold many New Korea funds under Hanmin Securities' instructions but was sued by clients. She complained to the branch manager but was ignored, eventually leaving a suicide note and losing consciousness. Remembering the help she received from Hong Geumbo nine years ago, Kim Mi-sook asked her to handle the renunciation of inheritance process.
Go Bok-hee insisted that Kang Pil-beom should take responsibility for the situation and revealed that Kang Nora was his daughter. She also mentioned that Hong Geumbo was 35 years old and had a disguised employment. Cha Jung-il wanted to know the contents of Kim Mi-sook's suicide note but was punished by Hong Geumbo. Hong Geumbo submitted her resignation letter to Albert Oh.
During the restructuring process, So Kyung-dong had to write down the names of employees to be laid off. He wrote only his own name and resigned, and Bang Jin-mok also left the company. Cha Jung-il created a hit list to survive. Hong Geumbo was puzzled as she was not laid off while female employees with high school diplomas were put on standby.
Hong Geumbo discovered that the paper Bomi folded was part of the slush fund ledger. The ledger was with Bomi, and Hong Geumbo was shocked to find that the amount exceeded 300 billion won. She immediately handed the ledger to Yoon Jae-beom, but he said he had no intention of investigating the slush fund. He lamented the atmosphere of overlooking executives' corruption amid the country's economic crisis.
Hong Geumbo expressed anger, saying, "If the country is in crisis, those who made the decisions must take responsibility." She called Go Bok-hee and informed her about the slush fund ledger, saying, "You saw the ledger, so you know, right? It's over 300 billion won. If we release just the slush fund, we can attract overseas capital and there's no need for restructuring." Go Bok-hee retorted angrily, "You think of me as a thief, but compared to Chairman Kang, I'm just a petty criminal trying to make a living."
Hong Geumbo extended her hand to Go Bok-hee and proposed cooperation to seize the slush fund, saying, "I'm going to steal it all. Want to join me?" Thus, the two planned to steal Kang Pil-beom's slush fund together.
