Girl group IVE appeared on JTBC's "Newsroom" ahead of the release of their second full-length album, "REVIVE+." On the broadcast of "Newsroom" on the 15th, IVE talked about their new album, world tour plans, and the team's growth.
Jang Wonyoung revealed that her childhood dream was to become an announcer, saying, "This is a place I have never been to before, so standing here feels very new and exciting." Rei spoke about their achievements so far, saying, "Every year, working hard and receiving good awards has been a great motivation. Since we are returning with a full album after a long time, I want to show a good image through this promotion and achieve meaningful results."
IVE won both the Album Bonsang and Digital Song Bonsang at the 40th Golden Disc Awards last month with their third mini-album "IVE EMPATHY" and the title track "REBEL HEART," respectively, achieving the feat of winning both album and digital song Bonsangs for three consecutive years. Liz said, "I am grateful to receive many awards," adding, "As the years go by, I realize that winning big awards is never easy. Above all, I am very thankful to DIVE (official fan club name) because I know we can continue such good activities thanks to our fans."
Ahn Yujin explained IVE's color and charm, saying, "The team name 'IVE' means 'I HAVE,' which means we will show everything we have," and added, "I think the strength is that we can show various charms rather than being defined by a single color." She expressed confidence by adding, "Now that it's the second full album, I feel like we've only shown about 20% so far."
IVE's second full-length album "REVIVE+" will be released on the 23rd. Jang Wonyoung, who participated in writing the pre-released song "BANG BANG," said, "This song also focuses on confidence and 'self-assurance' as keywords, and I tried to compose the lyrics wittily so that the public can enjoy it more." She explained the secret behind her ultra-positive mindset called "Lucky Vicky" and "Wonyoung's way of thinking," saying, "I think it comes from the idea that 'I' am the subject of my life. Ultimately, it's my life, and I firmly believe that I am the one who has to solve problems, so I don't hesitate when making decisions."
About the album's title track "BLACKHOLE," Gaeul explained, "It is the central song of the album, redefining the word 'we' for IVE and announcing a new leap forward." The members raised anticipation for their comeback by showcasing the song's killing part and key choreography for the first time.
IVE is preparing for their second world tour in 2026, and Lee Seo said, "I am excited to meet fans from various countries, and we are preparing to show diverse stages." Regarding the growth they experienced through their first world tour "SHOW WHAT I HAVE," Ahn Yujin said, "The way we communicate with fans on stage has diversified, and since we spend a lot of time together as members, I feel we have become closer."
Finally, when asked about the titles they want to be known for as IVE, Lee Seo chose "a singer you can trust and listen to," and Rei chose "a limitless singer," expressing their ambition to continue showing diverse charms. IVE's second full-length album and the title track "BLACKHOLE" will be released at 6 p.m. (KST) on the 23rd through various online music sites. IVE is also predicting another hit as their pre-released song "BANG BANG" ranks high on domestic and international music charts.
