Huh Gak, '1st Place' Launch... Bursting with Confidence, "Absolutely Number One"

Singer John Park praised Huh Gak highly. MBC's new variety show "1st Place" will premiere on the 15th, with Huh Gak confirmed to appear. The first recording features a large number of vocalists from the music industry, and the appearance of Huh Gak, the winner of "Superstar K2," is expected to heat up the scene. Regarding this stage, Huh Gak said, "It feels like I'm auditioning again. I have to win no matter what."

The broadcast will also reveal a special support message from John Park, who competed against Huh Gak in the finals of "Superstar K2." John Park praised Huh Gak, saying, "Huh Gak's vocal cords are a natural gift. He is a vocalist born to sing." He honestly admitted, "At the time of the audition, I had a lot of popularity. I never once thought I could beat Huh Gak with my singing."

Huh Gak mentioned that the competition on "1st Place" would not be easy. This is because Lee Yeji, the recent winner of "Our Ballad," is set to appear. Huh Gak expressed caution about Lee Yeji, saying, "She just finished the audition recently, so her fighting power is unknown. She seems to have a really strong heart."

"1st Place" is a program where the ultimate winners of past music auditions gather to compete for the title of "the best of the best." Lee Min-jung and Boom will host the show, which will premiere at 8:50 PM on the 15th. The program is expected to be the most spectacular and ruthless war in the history of Korean auditions.

"1st Place" is an unprecedented program that brings together participants who have won final victories in different music auditions. Along with Huh Gak, recent winners such as Lee Yeji from "Our Ballad" and Bak Chang Geun, the winner of "Tomorrow's National Singer," are scheduled to appear. Many other highly praised contestants from various auditions will also participate.

The competition rules of the program introduce a groundbreaking system where contestants sing directly in front of their rivals. This pressure is so intense that even winners confessed, "I broke down the moment I saw the other contestants sitting in front of me." During the recording, many singers trembled or experienced cramps due to nervousness, adding to the tension.

The "real-time push-out" method by the 301-member audience panel adds to the ruthlessness. Without judges, the panelists vote just like the general audience with "one vote per person," and if a challenger receives a higher score, the current contestant must immediately give up their spot in a merciless battle for ranking. This system turned the venue into a tense battlefield.

"1st Place" offers more than just a competition; it presents a feast of "perfect live" performances by reinterpreting each contestant's life song. Participants perform the songs that made them number one, evoking the emotions of that time while showcasing their deepened skills as singers. MC Boom emphasized, "You have to experience this sound live at the venue," expressing high expectations for the quality of the performances.

The first broadcast of "1st Place" will air on February 15th at 8:50 PM. This program is expected to become a significant milestone in the history of Korean auditions.
