
On the first anniversary of the late Kim Sae-ron, actor Lee Young-yoo expressed her longing. On the 16th, Lee Young-yoo posted a message on her SNS saying, "Our Ron, I will never forget you for a single day and love you forever." Along with the message, a photo was revealed showing Lee Young-yoo visiting the memorial park where the late Kim Sae-ron is laid to rest, paying her respects.
The late Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, 2025. She was 25 years old at the time. Lee Young-yoo was a close friend of the late Kim Sae-ron during her lifetime, and her tribute evoked deep emotions in many people.
The late Kim Sae-ron debuted as a model for the magazine Enfant in 2001 and began her full-fledged acting career with the 2009 film Traveler. At that time, she was the youngest actress in South Korea to walk the red carpet at the Cannes International Film Festival and was recognized as a "child prodigy." She later appeared in various works such as Ajeossi, Dohee-ya, Snowy Road, and dramas like Queen's Classroom and Witch's Court, proving her unique presence.
However, after causing a drunk driving accident in May 2022, Kim Sae-ron went into self-reflection. As a result, she withdrew from the drama Trolley, and much of her footage was edited out from the Netflix series Hounds. She later attempted to resume activities through the play Dongchimi, but due to negative public reaction, she withdrew after one day citing health reasons.
The late Kim Sae-ron's final film, We Are Every Day, will be released on March 4. This film, co-starring Lee Chae-min, is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about the chaotic youth that begins with a sudden confession from a seventeen-year-old childhood friend amid all the confusion.
Kim Sae-ron's death shocked many fans and colleagues, and her memorial will continue. Lee Young-yoo's tribute message expresses her determination not to forget the legacy Kim Sae-ron left behind.
