ENA's 'Honor' premieres with 3.1%... Lee Chung-ah transforms into a highly capable retriever lawyer

ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Honor: Their Court' premiered on the 2nd. This drama is a mystery pursuit story about three female lawyers confronting a massive scandal from the past, based on a Swedish drama. In its first broadcast, 'Honor' recorded a 3.1% viewership rating, the highest ever for an ENA Monday-Tuesday drama premiere, marking a smooth start.

Lee Chung-ah plays lawyer Hwang Hyun-jin in the drama. She appears as a member of the female crime victim-specialized law firm L&J, alongside Lee Na-young and Jung Eun-chae. Hwang Hyun-jin is an emotional type and a black belt who has mastered various martial arts. Unlike the typical lawyer image, she is portrayed as a field-oriented character. In the early episodes, Hwang Hyun-jin takes on the defense of Jo Yoo-jung, a minor victim of sexual assault, leading to a tense reunion with her former lover, reporter Lee Joon-hyuk.

Lee Chung-ah described this character as a "highly combative retriever." She is a fearless figure who throws herself to protect "her people," showing a dynamic and unguarded side through this role. Lee Chung-ah previously made a special appearance as an ace lawyer in 'A Thousand Won Lawyer.' However, the role of Hwang Hyun-jin is closer to her twenties self, possessing a bright and spirited charm.

Lee Chung-ah has also been active in the action genre. Despite suffering a traffic accident in August last year before filming 'Honor,' she wore heels and performed action scenes herself to express the character. Immersed passionately in filming while ignoring the pain, her hip injury worsened. She is currently dedicated to rehabilitation.

Director Park Gun-ho praised Lee Chung-ah, saying she has a unique strength that can simultaneously carry the weight and loveliness of the character. Lee Chung-ah's passionate acting and immersion in the role enhance the drama's appeal.

'Honor: Their Court' centers on female lawyers, addressing social issues and attracting significant viewer interest. This drama goes beyond typical courtroom drama elements, delivering a profound story through the complex emotions and conflicts of each character.

Lee Chung-ah's performance plays a crucial role in heightening the drama's tension. She portrays the complex psychology of hiding secrets and conflicts from her husband, detective Goo Sun-kyu. These elements provide viewers with a deeper opportunity for immersion.

'Honor' features female lawyers as protagonists, offering a different perspective from traditional male-centered courtroom dramas. The drama raises questions about law and justice, focusing on delivering social messages.

Through her performance in this work, Lee Chung-ah once again proves her acting skills. Her acting effectively conveys the character's complex emotions, leaving a strong impression on viewers. While the drama's success depends on future developments, the results of the first broadcast are interpreted as a positive sign.

'Honor: Their Court' will continue to provide viewers with engaging stories through various cases and conflicts alongside Lee Chung-ah. The drama is expected to leave a deep impression by addressing women's strength and justice.
