The live broadcast of singer IU's encore performance held at Sangam World Cup Stadium was aired. On Lunar New Year's Day, MBC scheduled the Seoul encore concert, "IU Concert THE WINNING," which marked the conclusion of IU's first world tour journey. This concert, celebrating IU's musical achievements over approximately six months with fans worldwide since last March, attracted great attention even before its airing.
IU solidified the unique title of "the first female solo artist to conquer two large stadiums" by performing at KSPO Dome in 2019 as the first female solo singer to enter the venue, followed by Jamsil Olympic Stadium in 2022, and Seoul World Cup Stadium in 2024. This concert boasted an unprecedented scale, gathering many fans to enjoy IU's music.
During the performance, a drone show illuminating the night sky over Sangam and various stage productions captivated viewers' attention. IU performed numerous hit songs, including "Holsse," the title track of "The Winning," the refreshing energy of "Apoo," and the touching melody of "Celebrity." The finale of the concert was adorned with the tour's theme, "Love wins all," delivering the message from IU that "the power of love will ultimately overcome everything" to the audience.
At the end of the concert, IU shared, "It feels new to have reached the 100th concert as a singer." She added, "I don't know how long I can continue or how much time I have left in my singing career, but I will do my best," showing both humility and passion.
In addition to her singing career, IU continues her path as an actress. She is set to return to the small screen through MBC's new drama "21st Century Great Lady," scheduled to premiere in April. IU's diverse activities are receiving great public interest, and expectations are high for her future endeavors.
