Lunar New Year Special '2026 Lucky Trot Festival' Ratings 7.9%... Ranked No.1 on Terrestrial Broadcasting


KBS's Lunar New Year special "2026 Lucky Trot Festival" was broadcast on February 17. This program provided abundant enjoyment to viewers on Lunar New Year's evening. According to Nielsen Korea, the first part of the broadcast recorded a 6.7% viewership rating, and the second part recorded 7.9%. In particular, the highest minute rating reached 9.8%, ranking first among all terrestrial programs aired that day. This figure greatly surpasses the performance of last year's "2025 Trot Festival," demonstrating that KBS's trot programs enjoy high popularity every holiday season.

MC Lee Chan-won was at the center of this broadcast. Following last year, Lee Chan-won hosted again this year, leading the program with extensive trot knowledge and witty remarks. He attracted viewers of all generations with his commentary that enhanced the performers' stages and his stable hosting. Lee Chan-won's hosting improved the program's completeness and is regarded as a key factor contributing to the rise in viewership ratings.

The lineup for this broadcast was exceptional. Various artists, including winners of general programming trot auditions, gathered in one place. The dignified performances of "Trot Queens" Kim Yeon-ja and Song Ga-in, along with the energy of artists with solid fandoms such as Park Seo-jin, Ahn Sung-hoon, and Kim Yong Bin, created a synergy. Lee Chan-won promised a stage full of luck to the audience and viewers by performing the opening stage early in the broadcast. He then introduced 15 trot singers who would decorate the stage that day. Shin Yu, Song Ga-in, Park Seo-jin, Kim Yong Bin, Park Hye-shin, and Kim Hee-jin opened the show by passionately singing "Dongbaek Agassi." Hwang Min-woo and Hwang Min-ho performed the "Partner" stage, while Ahn Sung-hoon, Na Tae-joo, Kim Hee-jae, and Park Ji-hyun performed "Shabang Shabang" together with the original singer Park Hyun-bin.

Park Ji-hyun premiered her new song "Aeganjang," eliciting enthusiastic responses from fans. She said, "This is my upcoming new song. Please give lots of love to the new song 'Aeganjang,' which will be released on February 23." In addition, the rich collaboration stages featuring senior and junior singers such as Park Seo-jin, Park Ji-hyun, Ahn Sung-hoon, Na Tae-joo, and Kim Hee-jae received a warm response from the audience.

Lee Chan-won's stable hosting made the overall flow of the program smooth. He introduced various artists' stages and strengthened communication with viewers.
