
BTS member J-Hope (real name Jung Hoseok) donated a total of 300 million KRW in celebration of his birthday. On February 18, J-Hope delivered 200 million KRW to Seoul Asan Medical Center to support the development of the Children's Hospital. This donation was made to commemorate J-Hope's birthday. J-Hope expressed the meaning of the donation, saying, "I sincerely hope that children can be healthy and dream of a hopeful future."
J-Hope began donating to Seoul Asan Medical Center in 2018. In 2022, he donated 100 million KRW, and last year, 200 million KRW, bringing his total donations to 500 million KRW to date. Seoul Asan Medical Center plans to use J-Hope's donations to improve medical facilities and environments for pediatric and adolescent patients, provide home care for severely ill children, and operate psychological healing programs.
Additionally, J-Hope donated 100 million KRW to the child welfare organization Green Umbrella. This donation will be used as scholarships for students in need at his alma maters, Gwangju International High School and Jeonnam Girls' Commercial High School. With this donation, J-Hope became the 14th member of Green Umbrella's high-value donor group, the "Green Noble Trinity Club." J-Hope's total personal donations amount to 1.4 billion KRW.
Hwang Young-ki, chairman of Green Umbrella, said, "We sincerely thank J-Hope for delivering love to his alma mater juniors and underprivileged children every year on his birthday." Through his donations, J-Hope supports juniors facing financial difficulties to nurture their dreams.
BTS is scheduled to release their fifth full-length album, "Arirang," on March 20. The new album contains a total of 14 tracks that showcase the team's identity and the current BTS. To celebrate, BTS will hold "BTS Comeback Live: Arirang" at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st, and the stage will be broadcast live on Netflix.
J-Hope's donation activities have attracted attention for strengthening communication with fans and fulfilling social responsibility. Expressing gratitude to the fandom "ARMY," J-Hope stated his intention to continue making donations in the future.
