The group Stray Kids ranked 2nd on the '2025 Global Artist Chart' announced by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). This is the second highest ranking following global pop star Taylor Swift. Another K-pop group, Seventeen, placed 14th.
IFPI annually announces the 'Top 20' artist rankings by compiling worldwide physical album sales, digital music downloads, and streaming figures. Stray Kids have been on this chart for four consecutive years since their first entry in 2022. They started at 7th place in 2022, rose to 3rd in 2023, and ranked 5th in 2024. This year, they achieved their highest ranking as a group.
In August last year, Stray Kids topped the US Billboard album chart, the 'Billboard 200,' with their 4th full album 'KARMA,' and again in November with SKZ IT TAPE 'DO IT.' They became the only artist in the 70-year history of this chart to have eight consecutive albums reach number one. They also became the group with the third most number-one albums, following The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, tying with U2.
Seventeen first entered this chart at 9th place in 2021 and has maintained their ranking consistently since then. The two K-pop artists who have entered the IFPI 'Global Artist Chart' for five consecutive years are Seventeen and BTS.
Seventeen released a total of four albums last year, including their 5th full album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' the sub-unit BSS's 2nd single 'TELEPARTY,' the Hoshi x Woozi single 'BEAM,' and the S.Coups x Mingyu mini album 'HYPE VIBES.' 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' reached 2nd place on the 'Billboard 200,' and 'HYPE VIBES' set a new highest ranking for a K-pop unit album. Thanks to strong performances from both the group and units, Seventeen dominated the '2025 Billboard K-pop Artist 100,' occupying ranks 1 through 13.
Taylor Swift took 1st place on the 2025 Global Artist Chart, followed by Drake in 3rd, The Weeknd in 4th, Bad Bunny in 5th, Kendrick Lamar in 6th, Morgan Wallen in 7th, Sabrina Carpenter in 8th, Billie Eilish in 9th, and Ariana Grande in 10th.
