Youngja and Youngsik reject the escort and "rely on humor"... First date scene

The romance of the 30th season of "I am SOLO" rapidly unfolded in an unexpected direction. The episode aired on the 18th on SBS Plus and ENA revealed the scene at "Solo Nation 30" filled with confusion due to the first dates and new date selections.

Young-ja, who went on a "1:1 date" with Young-sik, declined his escort offer to "open the car door." She then humorously asked about his driving skills, saying, "Have you just started driving? Would you like to go in my car?" Inside the car, Young-ja shared, "I lost a year's salary in stocks, but despite people saying 'That must be tough,' I thought of it as just starting work a year late," showing a positive mindset. This statement surprised Young-sik.

Upon arriving at the seafood restaurant, the two had an honest conversation. Young-ja showed her down-to-earth side by saying, "I usually carry shopping bags or plastic bags to hold things rather than using a handbag for show." In an interview with the production team, Young-sik expressed confidence, saying, "I think I don't need to look for anyone else now." Later, Young-sik opened up about his family history, and Young-ja expressed her excitement, saying, "I feel like we've grown closer."

Young-chul appeared nervous during his "2:1 date" with Soon-ja and Ok-soon. After an 11-year relationship, this was his first drinking occasion with a woman, and he trembled while setting the table during the meal. Afterward, Young-chul planned to have a "1:1 conversation" back at the lodging, but his talk with Ok-soon ended quickly with unproductive content. In contrast, his conversation with Soon-ja was more positive, as he actively expressed, "I was glad the person I wanted to talk to came." After the date, Young-chul told the production team, "I think my feelings lean more toward Soon-ja than the high-energy Ok-soon."

After all the dates, the single men and women gathered in the common living room. Jung-sook showed interest in Young-chul, saying, "I thought you might have big mood swings, but you seem responsible and genuine." Young-soo, who was not chosen by Young-ja and ate the "lonely set meal," said, "I'm completely confused right now," revealing his worries. Sang-chul expressed his feelings during a separate conversation with Soon-ja, but she told the production team, "Even after talking with Sang-chul, I liked the pure-hearted Young-chul more." While Young-ho was away for an interview, Young-sook asked Kwang-soo for a conversation and said, "After hearing your self-introduction, I was added to my list of interests."

Ok-soon called Young-chul aside and asked, "Is there a difference in meaning between being called first and second on the 1:1 date?" Young-chul avoided the question, saying, "I'll think about it a little and get back to you." Ok-soon expressed frustration, asking, "Is it really that hard?" When Ok-soon, who was guarding the common living room to get an answer from Young-chul, felt cold, Young-soo showed manners by bringing her a blanket. Later, Young-chul cautiously declined Ok-soon, saying, "Please consider getting to know someone other than me." Feeling down from Young-chul's response, Ok-soon said, "I wish you had told me earlier," and left, while Young-chul took a solitary walk to calm his mind.

Young-ho called Young-ja over in front of Young-soo and asked for a conversation. He said, "You were one of the people I wanted to talk to. Am I among the people you wanted to talk to?" Young-ja replied, "I was, but then I thought, 'Oh, you like that kind of style,' so I'm not," showing her interest in Young-sik. Young-ho asked, "If someone actively pursued you, could your feelings change?" but Young-ja answered, "Not yet, it's still strong."

Returning to the common living room, Young-ho mentioned the mutual attraction between Young-ja and Young-sik, saying, "It seems really strong." Hearing this, Young-soo said, "I felt bad," but also expressed his romantic determination, saying, "If there's even a little desire to get to know me, I'll keep trying until the end, even if she's doing well with Young-sik."

The next morning, Young-soo went to borrow sunscreen from Soon-ja but ran into Young-ja and went outside to talk with Soon-ja. Young-soo hinted that Young-ja was his "first choice," saying, "One is comfortable, and one I want to get to know more." Around the same time, Young-ja confessed in front of Young-sik that if she had a "second choice date," she would choose Young-soo. After finishing her conversation with Soon-ja, Young-soo appeared before Young-ja but was called outside again by Ok-soon. Ok-soon thanked Young-soo for bringing her a blanket, and he explained, "You feel like a younger sister." Ok-soon bluntly asked, "Can't you think differently?" and Young-soo replied, "Talking like this changes things," showing his confusion.

Young-sook quickly removed Young-soo, her "first impression pick" who did not talk to her, from her list of interests and gifted a fatigue recovery supplement to Young-ho, who said he "didn't sleep well." Later, the 30th season gathered for a new date selection. This time, the single men chose their daytime date partners, and the single women chose their nighttime date partners in a "simultaneous selection" method. Young-soo went to Soon-ja, not Young-ja, who was his "long-awaited first choice," and Young-ho chose Hyun-sook, not Young-sook. Young-sook expressed shock, saying, "I felt betrayed." As expected, Young-sik went straight to Young-ja, and Young-chul chose Soon-ja, resulting in a "2:1 date" with Young-soo. Kwang-soo chose Ok-soon, Sang-chul chose Young-sook, and Jung-sook was left with zero votes.

The preview released after the broadcast showed Young-sook angry about Young-ho's choice, and unlike the laughter-filled first date of Young-sik and Young-ja, a silent date was foreshadowed. The chaotic romance of the 30th season, a special edition of "Egennam Tetoneo," will air on the 25th at 10:30 PM on SBS Plus and ENA.
