Group ATEEZ brought big laughs to fans with a chaotic cooking challenge while transformed into cousins for the Lunar New Year holiday. In the episode "Nothing Can Stop the Cousins," released on their official YouTube channel on the 17th, the members showcased their extraordinary variety skills by attempting to make the trendy "Dubai Chewy Cookie."
In the broadcast, the ATEEZ members performed a clever skit as cousins gathered for the holiday. The tension added to the fun, particularly between a member claiming "elder brother" status due to an earlier birthday despite being the same age, and the younger ones who refused to acknowledge it. Exaggerated, boastful stories, such as "I didn't just climb trees as a kid; I pulled them out by the roots," recreated the typical boisterous atmosphere of a holiday gathering.
The members ambitiously set out to make "Dubai Chewy Cookies" (Du-jjon-ku). Their bickering during the role assignment showed off a chemistry reminiscent of real siblings. In particular, member Seonghwa drew laughter by channeling a "master" who had spent his whole life roasting marshmallows, declaring, "The water is good today" as he took the cooking seriously.
However, contrary to their ambitions, the cooking process was not smooth. They faced suspicions of making "Gambas" after ignoring the recipe and adding excessive butter, and ultimately, an "overcook" disaster occurred where the marshmallows burned. Consequently, the members gave up on the "chewiness" and humorously salvaged the situation by quickly renaming the result "Dubai Crispy Cookies."
After showing affection for the cookies by naming them "Molly" and "Holly," the members fell into a panic when news arrived that their aunt was coming to the messy house. The ending, featuring them scurrying to clean up while shouting "We have to clean this up fast!", provided viewers with a final burst of laughter.
This Lunar New Year special, highlighting ATEEZ's human charm and perfect teamwork, can be viewed on ATEEZ's official YouTube channel.
