Black Pink surpasses 100 million YouTube subscribers... first artist worldwide

The group BLACKPINK has proven its unparalleled presence by becoming the first artist worldwide to surpass 100 million YouTube subscribers. According to YG Entertainment on the 21st, BLACKPINK's YouTube channel exceeded 100 million subscribers at approximately 7:31 PM on the 20th. This is the first and highest record among all artists and was achieved about 9 years and 8 months after the BLACKPINK channel was created.

BLACKPINK's subscriber count surged sharply after beginning promotions for their third mini-album, DEADLINE. Starting from the announcement video released on the 15th of last month, an average of about 10,000 new subscribers joined daily. This reflects global fans' anticipation for the new musical world they will unveil.

On YouTube, subscriber count serves as an indicator of a loyal fandom's interest. BLACKPINK has already established itself as a top global group, but this shows that their fandom is still expanding. In July 2020, BLACKPINK became the first non-English-speaking artist to rank in the top 5 for YouTube subscribers. Since then, they surpassed famous pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmello, and Justin Bieber, reaching number one among global artists in September 2021. They continue to hold this throne to this day.

BLACKPINK's view counts are also overwhelming. To date, they have produced 50 videos with over 100 million views each on YouTube, and the cumulative views on their official YouTube channel have reached 41.1 billion. These achievements have been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the "band with the most views on YouTube."

BLACKPINK will release their third mini-album, DEADLINE, at 2 PM (KST) on the 27th. The album includes a total of five tracks, including the title track "GO" and pre-released songs "JUMP," "Me and my," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy." YG stated, "As the title DEADLINE suggests, the album will be filled with 'the best moments that cannot be undone' and 'the brightest present of BLACKPINK at this moment.'"

This album release is expected to further strengthen communication with fans. BLACKPINK has expanded their global fanbase through various musical attempts and unique content. This album is also expected to solidify their musical identity even more.

BLACKPINK holds an important position in the global music market, and their achievements contribute to raising the status of K-pop. BLACKPINK surpassing 100 million YouTube subscribers carries a meaning beyond just numbers. It is an indicator of how greatly their music and content influence the world.

Fans are expressing high expectations for BLACKPINK's new album and music, and their activities will continue to attract attention. BLACKPINK plans to maintain ongoing communication with their global fans alongside their musical achievements.
