Black Pink surpasses 100 million YouTube subscribers... the first artist worldwide


Girl group Black Pink has become the first artist worldwide to surpass 100 million YouTube subscribers. On the 21st, YouTube announced that Black Pink is the first official artist channel to reach 100 million subscribers. Black Pink's YouTube channel was launched on June 29, 2016, marking this achievement in about 9 years and 8 months. The channel's content has accumulated a total of 41.2 billion views.

To commemorate Black Pink's achievement, YouTube awarded them the Red Diamond Creator Award. Rio Cohen, Global Head of Music at Google and YouTube, said, "Black Pink's reaching 100 million subscribers is historic," adding, "It shows how deep the bond is between Black Pink and their fans." He also emphasized, "Beyond being a milestone for K-pop, it is a perfect example of how artists can build borderless fandoms through YouTube."

Black Pink has 50 videos with over 100 million views, including "DDU-DU DDU-DU" and "Kill This Love." The official channel's cumulative views exceed 41 billion, with "DDU-DU DDU-DU" reaching 2.3 billion views and "Kill This Love" 2.1 billion views. In 2020, Black Pink became the first non-English artist to enter the top 5 YouTube subscriber rankings, and in September 2021, they ranked first in global artist subscribers.

Black Pink recently began promotions for their third mini-album, DEADLINE, leading to a rapid increase in subscribers. Since the release of the album announcement video, more than 10,000 new subscribers have joined daily on average. The mini-album DEADLINE will be released at 2 PM on the 27th and includes five tracks: the title song "GO," "JUMP," "Me and my," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy."

Black Pink is making a full-group comeback about 3 years and 5 months after their second full album, Born Pink, released in 2022. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, Black Pink is signaling a new leap forward along with the record of 100 million subscribers. The group following Black Pink is BTS, which has about 81 million subscribers. Black Pink members Rosé and Jennie rank 5th and 9th respectively among Korean artist individual channels, demonstrating strong influence.

Known as "record breakers" on YouTube, Black Pink's latest achievement will further strengthen their global impact. Black Pink's reaching 100 million subscribers is regarded as an important milestone elevating the status of K-pop. Their strong bond with fans and unique influence have established Black Pink as global superstars.
