Ticket reservations for the free performance "BTS Comeback Live: Arirang," held at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul by BTS, will begin at 8 PM on the 23rd. This performance marks the first time in 3 years and 9 months that a new album stage will be unveiled, and ticket competition is expected to be fierce. According to BTS's agency Big Hit Music, tickets can be reserved through NOL tickets. Reservations are limited to one ticket per person, and a separate ticket reservation fee will apply.
The seats available for reservation are divided into standing seats located at the far right facing the main stage and designated seats arranged from behind the standing area to the statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. The standing seats surrounding the protruding stage will be provided to 2,000 people selected from those who pre-ordered BTS's 5th full album "Arirang" and applied for the event. The designated seat area may have restricted views due to stage production and safety structures, and audience members who reserve seats in this area can watch the performance on large screens installed on-site.
The police have urged caution to prevent fraud related to ticket reservations. Park Jong-bo, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a regular press briefing on the 23rd, "We are continuously monitoring crimes that may arise related to ticket sales." The police warned of potential crimes such as proxy purchase offers, resale of tickets at high prices, server disruptions caused by attacks on reservation sites, and sales of accommodation near the venue.
Commissioner Park explained, "As a result of actual monitoring, posts offering proxy ticket purchases were found. The proposed amounts ranged from 100,000 to 1,200,000 KRW," adding, "We requested deletion and blocking of 34 posts suspected of fraud and personal information theft." The organizers stated that proxy purchases are fundamentally impossible and ticket resale is also prohibited. Commissioner Park emphasized, "Such offers are often related to fraud, so citizens need to be cautious."
The police expect up to 260,000 people to gather on the day of the performance and plan to manage the crowd by designating the Gwanghwamun area as a virtual 'stadium.' The performance will be broadcast live through the online video service (OTT) Netflix. The organizers informed through the reservation page that "Illegal ticket purchases using macros or automated programs may be punished according to the law."
This performance by BTS holds special meaning for fans. Fans will be able to experience a new stage after 3 years and 9 months and have another opportunity to connect with BTS's music and message through the performance. The police and organizers stated they will do their best to ensure the event proceeds safely and smoothly.
