It has been one year since the passing of the late Kang Myung-joo. She passed away on February 27, 2022, after battling breast cancer, at the age of 54. The late Kang Myung-joo made her debut in 1992 with the play "Kuni, Nara" by the theater company Experimental Theater. Since then, she actively performed on numerous stages in plays such as "Gu Il-man Hamlet," "Blood and Seed," "20th Century Blues," and "Bea." Her passion for acting greatly influenced her juniors.

The late Kang Myung-joo left a strong impression on the public with her charismatic role as a judge in the drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo." Later, in the Netflix series "Tricked," released last year, she played the role of Yoon Bu-yong, the mother of Park Young-beom (played by Lee Jun-young). This character opposed the marriage between her son Park Young-beom and Yang Geum-myeong (played by IU), leaving a strong impact in the confrontation scenes with IU.

In particular, the late Kang Myung-joo portrayed a character who disapproved of Geum-myeong as her son Young-beom's partner and made rude remarks to his mother, Oh Ae-soon (played by Moon So-ri), which drew criticism. However, when Young-beom sided with Geum-myeong, the scene where she shouted, "Why should I stay silent! You are my pride and my life!" became a memorable moment.

"Tricked" became the late Kang Myung-joo's final work, and the production team paid tribute to her through the ending credits. Her daughter, actress Park Se-young, wrote, "My mother left on a long journey yesterday afternoon. I would be grateful if you could remember the stages and shining moments that actress Kang Myung-joo, my mother, loved."

Additionally, actor Nam Myung-ryeol recalled, "She was truly a beautiful actress. Especially on stage, that beauty shone even brighter." The late Kang Myung-joo remains an actress remembered by many through theater and drama. Her acting and passion will continue to influence many people in the future.
