Black Pink will release their third mini-album "Deadline" on the 27th. To commemorate this, a comeback project in collaboration with the National Museum of Korea is underway. On the afternoon of the 26th, the exterior wall of the National Museum of Korea was illuminated with pink lights. This project is a specially planned event to celebrate Black Pink's comeback, showcasing the fusion of traditional Korean culture and modern K-pop.
Inside the museum, a listening session was held to preview all the tracks from Black Pink's third mini-album "Deadline." The album includes a total of five songs, featuring the pre-release track "Run," the title track "Go," "Me and My," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy." This listening session was conducted for those who made prior reservations and was designed to allow attendees to enjoy the new songs while maintaining the museum's unique atmosphere.
In the museum lobby, an exhibition connecting 22 panels of Daedongyeojido was installed. This exhibit is a replica printed in high-resolution digital quality on traditional Korean paper (hanji), measuring approximately 6.7 meters in height and 3.8 meters in width. A carpet with the word "Black Pink" was laid on the floor, creating a spectacular scene blending tradition and modernity.
The listening session took place after the museum's closing hours and was conducted in an orderly manner. Visitors were able to focus on Black Pink's music while admiring the museum's grand scenery. Spotify, the audio and music streaming platform, participated as the official partner.
The title track "Go" features Black Pink's signature EDM hip-hop beat. From the start, the distinct rhythm energizes the mood, with an explosive sound in the chorus. Track 3, "Me and My," begins with a heavy hip-hop beat followed by a catchy melody. Track 4, "Champion," combines a fast-paced verse with a majestic chorus. Track 5, "Fxxxboy," maximizes pop sensibility with sweet guitar melodies and delicate tunes.
Black Pink members also participated in audio guides for eight representative artifacts. Explanations of the Gyeongcheonsa Pagoda, gold bird wing-shaped crown ornament, gilt-bronze Maitreya statue, stone standing Maitreya Bodhisattva from Gamsansa Temple, gold earrings from the Gyeongju Couple Tomb, white porcelain moon jar, gilt-bronze seated Avalokitesvara statue, and silver-inlaid water landscape pattern bottle are provided in the voices of Black Pink members. Jisoo and Jennie recorded in Korean, Rosé in English, and Lisa in Thai. This audio guide will be released in March.
Fans holding Black Pink's light stick "Ppyongbong" gathered around the museum. Even after closing hours, fans waited orderly, capturing the scenic background with cameras and chatting. Members of the fan club "Bulsasa (People Who Love Black Pink)" expressed, "We are overwhelmed to come listen to the songs of a singer representing the nation. We are especially happy to hold this project in such a meaningful place."
Black Pink's third mini-album "Deadline" will be released at 2 PM on the 27th. The project with the National Museum of Korea, including the lighting event and audio guide, will continue until March 8.
