Park Seo-jin will showcase the first-ever 'Bulbuk (Hwago)' performance on KBS 2TV's 'Immortal Songs.' The episode airing on February 28 will feature a competition reinterpreting the legendary trot singer Seol Woon-do's classic songs. In the first part, five teams including Cheon Rok Dam, Lee Seung-hyun, Jeon Yu Jin, Son Tae-jin, and LUN8 competed, with Son Tae-jin winning the final victory by scoring 424 points. Now, five teams—Jadu, Kim Soo-chan, D82, Kim So-hyang X Yoon Hyung-ryul (musical 'Anna Karenina' team), and Park Seo-jin—will compete for the next legend title.
In this competition, the artists fiercely compete to be crowned the next legend to succeed Seol Woon-do. Jadu announced dazzling external support including a band session, stunt cheerleaders, and locking dancers, expressing confidence by saying, "I even broke my insurance for this stage. Honestly, I've never prepared this much for my own stage." Park Seo-jin adds excitement by promising a stage that will be noticed in the 14-year history of 'Immortal Songs.'
Park Seo-jin returns to the stage after his last win six years ago, stating, "I brought the weapon I intended to use when I won. It's a performance no singer has ever attempted on 'Immortal Songs.' I prepared it even at the cost of sacrificing my body." He chose Seol Woon-do's debut song, "Lost 30 Years," opening with a sorrowful emotion that captures the pain of separated families, drawing gasps from the audience.
Park Seo-jin's secret weapon, 'Bulbuk (Hwago),' is a stage production using fire-lit drumsticks to simultaneously display fiery trails and majestic sounds. Every gesture of his will be accompanied by heart-throbbing drumbeats and brilliant flames, expected to captivate the live audience. Lee Chan-won remarked, "There have been many performances on 'Immortal Songs,' but this is the first Bulbuk performance," expressing surprise. Son Tae-jin evaluated, "For competitors, surpassing oneself is always a burden. But today, I think Park Seo-jin achieved that."
Park Seo-jin's stage will show his rebirth from the 'God of Janggu' to the 'God of Bulbuk.' This competition is expected to leave a strong impression on viewers with an unprecedented scale of production. Amidst the artists' pride battle, attention is focused on what results Park Seo-jin's unique performance will bring.
