Hwang Young Woong returns to the stage after 3 years... Emotional first song in front of 10,000 audience members

Singer Hwang Young Woong made a comeback after a three-year hiatus by taking the stage at the 54th Gangjin Celadon Festival held in Gangjin County, Jeollanam-do, on March 28. This performance was Hwang Young Woong's first official event participation in three years, drawing a massive crowd of fans and local residents from across the country. Approximately 10,000 spectators gathered, leaving the venue packed to capacity, and nearby parking lots quickly reached full occupancy.

It is known that Hwang Young Woong devoted more effort to practice than ever before in preparation for the comeback stage. Rehearsals and checks continued until the night before the performance to enhance perfection. Opening with the first song "Unlovable Love," Hwang Young Woong expressed gratitude by bowing deeply to the audience during the show. Hwang Young Woong revealed an emotional heart, saying, "I never thought this day would come again," and vowed, "I will start again step by step."

He expressed thanks to fans and the people of Gangjin County, saying, "The moment I longed for most during the past three years away from the stage is right now." On this day, he passionately sang new song "Oppa Is Back" along with "Hot Goodbye" and "Night Fog," showcasing his deepened emotion and vocal skills. In particular, he emphasized the meaning of the comeback stage by explaining, "'Hot Goodbye' is not a farewell but a passionate greeting signaling a new beginning."

Comparing himself to Gangjin's celadon, Hwang Young Woong said, "Like celadon that endures harsh flames and produces a brilliant sound, the past three years have made me stronger." He added, "The clear air and warmth of Gangjin were like a warm spring breeze to me after a long winter."

The highlight of the performance was the closing remarks just before the encore stage. Hwang Young Woong credited the fans, saying, "During the times I was lost and wandering, it was the unwavering faith of the Paradise family who stayed by my side that lifted me up again." He pledged, "From now on, I will practice giving and sharing and become a singer you can be proud of."

An event official stated, "Fan interest in Hwang Young Woong's comeback stage was much hotter than expected," and added, "His sincere stage manners and vocal ability elevated the festival's atmosphere."

Hwang Young Woong appeared on MBN's 2022 trot competition program "Burning Trotman," where he was regarded as a strong contender for the championship. However, during the broadcast, various allegations including school violence, assault and injury records, and dating violence surfaced, leading him to voluntarily withdraw from the program. Afterwards, he denied all school violence allegations through his agency. The agency stated, "A significant portion of the allegations currently circulating have been maliciously edited or are one-sided claims without verified facts."

Hwang Young Woong took time for self-reflection but decided he could no longer allow falsehoods to be accepted as truth. He said, "Now, I will no longer hide but boldly reveal the truth, restore my honor as a singer, and do my best to prevent such unjust cases from happening again."

Starting with this Gangjin Celadon Festival, Hwang Young Woong plans to accelerate his full-scale activities. He donated part of his performance fee from the comeback stage to Gangjin County's "Hometown Love Donation Program" to express gratitude to the local community. Hwang Young Woong's comeback is drawing attention to what kind of activities he will pursue in the future.
