Bae Ki-sung confessed to sudden hearing loss on a broadcast. On the February 2nd episode of TV Chosun's "Joseon's Lover," the recent status of Bae Ki-sung and his wife Lee Eun-bi was revealed. The couple visited a hospital, and Bae Ki-sung stated, "I can't hear in my right ear. The diagnosis is sudden hearing loss." He added, "I've been receiving treatment for about three weeks, but the effect has been slow, so I plan to have another examination."

The doctor explained that Bae Ki-sung had made excessive efforts to prepare for pregnancy. The doctor said, "His male energy was low, but he overexerted himself. He had energy of 1 but used 10. He became like a debtor." The doctor continued, "He was in a weak and insufficient state but endured and tried hard." Bae Ki-sung asked, "If sexual function improves, will my hearing come back?" The doctor replied, "If you have no sexual function, what are you trying to do? That's arrogance and conceit."

Bae Ki-sung shocked viewers by saying, "I was told I had to do it a lot, so I did it for eight days." Kim Guk-jin added, "It's a relief that you're still alive." Bae Ki-sung honestly revealed, "I thought I might suddenly die like this. There was a group that encouraged us to try for pregnancy together, so I felt a strong sense of duty. This time, I developed a strong desire to get pregnant. I think I was stressed about having to do it every day."

Lee Eun-bi explained why she did not undergo in vitro fertilization, saying, "I didn't care about damaging my body, but after worrying for nine years, we came this far. We have started considering IVF." She added, "Even if you try hard, pregnancy doesn't always happen, and honestly, even with IVF, it might not work." Lee Eun-bi said, "When I see both sets of parents, I want to give them grandchildren, but thinking about my husband, he always carries a heavy burden.
