Hwang Young Woong returns to the stage after 3 years... 70,000 audience members 'excited'

Singer Hwang Young Woong made a strong comeback on the official stage after three years, proving his presence. The 54th Gangjin Celadon Festival, where his return stage took place, concluded successfully, leaving behind heartfelt emotions, joy, and tangible achievements in revitalizing the local economy.

Fans who had been waiting for Hwang Young Woong's return gathered from all over the country. Including members of the fan club 'Paradise,' the number of visitors to the festival was estimated to be around 70,000. Especially on the day Hwang Young Woong's performance was scheduled, about 10,000 spectators filled the special stage, creating a sea of people. Nearby parking lots quickly reached capacity, causing visitors to disperse to the first and second parking lots, filling the venue with intense enthusiasm.

This stage held special meaning for Hwang Young Woong as well. He was a strong favorite to win when he appeared on MBN's 2022 competition program 'Burning Trotman,' but after various allegations including school violence and assault charges surfaced, he voluntarily withdrew, making this his first official event in three years. Since then, he took a long hiatus and spent time in self-reflection.

Hwang Young Woong opened the performance with the first song, "Hateful Love." During the show, he respectfully bowed deeply to the 10,000 spectators to express his gratitude and said, "I never thought a day like this would come again. I will start again step by step," revealing his emotional state. He continued, "The moment I have dreamed of most desperately during the past three years away from the stage is now," and added, "I bow my head in gratitude to the fans who did not forget and waited, and to the people of Gangjin who gave me this precious opportunity."

Hwang Young Woong's comeback demonstrated a powerful influence on the local economy beyond just an entertainment issue. Among fans, a voluntary movement arose to "boost sales of Gangjin agricultural products," and the direct transaction market within the festival enjoyed unprecedented prosperity. Sixty-six local specialties from Gangjin, including seaweed, kelp, and rice barley, quickly sold out through group orders and on-site purchases. As a result, sales for just one day on the 28th reached 127 million won. This accounted for more than 70% of the total sales of 175 million won over the entire eight-day festival.

During the performance, Hwang Young Woong dominated the stage with his overwhelming vocal power and signature mid-to-low voice. Each song was passionately sung, drawing cheers from the fans filling the audience. Especially, the sophisticated stage manners and interaction with the audience shown in this performance were enough to earn praise from experts present, who said, "As expected, Hwang Young Woong."

Having successfully completed his comeback debut, Hwang Young Woong plans to continue communicating with fans through various stages and content. His agency, Golden Voice, addressed past allegations by stating, "There are many claims that were maliciously edited or unverified," expressing their position. The agency also showed determination to restore his reputation, saying, "Although there may have been disputes during school days, there were no sadistic acts as reported."

With Hwang Young Woong's return, the Gangjin Celadon Festival made a tangible contribution to the local economy and fostered harmony between his fans and local residents. This event is recorded as a case where the comeback of the artist Hwang Young Woong demonstrated a positive impact on the local economy beyond a simple entertainment issue.
