A mystery unfolds at the horror reservoir 'Salmokji'... Terror sweeps the theaters on April 8

The movie "Salmokji" will be released on screens in early spring. This horror film depicts the incidents experienced by a filming crew at the haunted spot "Salmokji," promising to offer audiences a new horror experience. The footage screening and production briefing held on the morning of the 4th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall were attended by director Lee Sang-min and actors Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Joon-han, Kim Young-sung, Oh Dong-min, Yoon Jae-chan, and Jang Da-ah.

"Salmokji" portrays the events faced by a filming crew who head to the reservoir "Salmokji" to update the road view after an unidentified figure was captured. Director Lee Sang-min stated, "The most important aspect in directing a horror film is the reason why the protagonists go to a forbidden place." He conceived the work based on a story imagined while looking at the road view. The director explained that the project started from the question, "Why could filming only be done up to this point?"

Kim Hye-yoon plays the role of a water ghost in the film. She said, "The theme of a water ghost felt fresh, and the restrained demeanor of the water ghost was attractive," adding, "I tried to express emotions through my eyes and facial expressions." In her return to the screen after four years, she focused on refined expressive acting.

Lee Jong-won revealed that he had nightmares just from reading the script because it was so scary. He said, "I was constantly startled and scared on set, and my heart was pounding," expressing his hope that "Salmokji" will be a big hit. Oh Dong-min plays PD Kyung-jun, a former member of the Navy's maritime rescue unit, and mentioned that the atmosphere at the reservoir site and the makeup room were frightening. He said he hopes to find the fun of horror films through this opportunity.

Unlike most horror films that are released in the hot summer, "Salmokji" will premiere in early spring. However, the cast is confident that this film will appeal to audiences with its distinctive horror. Director Lee Sang-min emphasized, "We aimed to maximize the horror by utilizing the characteristics of water, such as sound and surface reflections." Yoon Jae-chan asked audiences to watch the film, saying, "This is the scariest horror movie I have ever seen."

The movie "Salmokji" will be released on April 8. This work is director Lee Sang-min's first solo feature film, reflecting his efforts to establish his unique style in the horror genre. Audiences can expect to experience a new form of horror through the strange events occurring at the reservoir.
