Bin Ye-seo was ultimately eliminated, causing a shock. The 11th episode of MBN's competition variety show 'Active King of Singers 3,' aired on the 3rd, featured the first round of the finals. This season introduced a new rule where only the top 7 from the first round of the finals advance directly to the second round, and the third place in the lower ranks becomes a candidate for elimination.

The first round of the finals was conducted in the format of a 'New Song Battle,' where contestants performed new songs for the first time. Geum Jan-di, who took the stage first, performed the traditional trot song "Secret Love" composed by Jung Eui-song. Geum Jan-di expressed the heartache of a woman in love through dynamic control, scoring 564 points out of a possible 825 from the celebrity judging panel.

Hong Ja performed the ballad trot "Spring Days Are Coming," composed by Kim Kyung-beom. The original composer Kim Kyung-beom tearfully told Hong Ja, "Thank you for comforting me during my long years of obscurity." Hong Ja scored 616 points.

Teen contestant Kim Tae-yeon chose Park Gu-yoon's "Go Go Go," delivering a fresh and lively performance. The masters praised her, saying, "You performed it so well. It sounds like your own song," and Kim Tae-yeon scored 657 points.

Kang Hye-yeon, who ranked 7th in the semifinals, expressed Lee Jin-sil's "Alttalttal" with unique costumes and cute choreography. Kang Hye-yeon scored 688 points, taking first place.

Solji, formerly of EXID, performed Yoon Il-sang's "Giga Joha." With glamorous attire and powerful vocals, Solji scored 765 points. On the other hand, Bin Ye-seo performed EuReKa's "Jjom Jjom," but received criticism for being "too inaudible in the low tones," scoring only 557 points.

Goo Soo-kyung chose Jung Kyung-cheon's "Seung Seung Jang Gu," hitting refreshing high notes to score 746 points. Hong Ji-yoon challenged a new genre with Im Kang-hyun's "I Saved One Outfit," scoring 853 points. Cha Ji-yeon expressed deep emotions through Ahn Ye-eun's "Tree," scoring 840 points.

The youngest contestant, Lee Soo-yeon, performed Yoon Myung-sun's "Dad, Father, Sir," but recorded a low score of 571 points. After the final rankings of the first round of the finals were announced, Hong Ji-yoon took first place, Cha Ji-yeon second, Goo Soo-kyung third, Solji fourth, Kim Tae-yeon fifth, and Kang Hye-yeon sixth. Hong Ja and Lee Soo-yeon tied for seventh place and advanced to the finals.

Among the elimination candidates, Geum Jan-di and Bin Ye-seo, Geum Jan-di survived by receiving 213 votes in the live audience vote and joined the second round of the finals. Bin Ye-seo expressed regret, saying, "I think I've come up this far, and I'm glad I was able to show how much I've grown."

With the TOP 9 for the second round of the finals decided, the glorious third-generation king of singers will be crowned in the live final broadcast next week. The second round of the 'Active King of Singers 3' finals will air on the 10th.
