Actress Gu Hye-sun explained the reason behind the pricing of the hair roller "Kurol," which she developed, following controversy over its price. On the 5th, Gu Hye-sun stated on her social media, "The initial manufacturing quantity was not large, so the cost price is high. For this reason, the current price is relatively high, but we plan to offer discount events gradually so that consumers do not feel burdened when purchasing."

"Kurol," developed by Gu Hye-sun, is a hair roller that, unlike typical round hair rollers, can be flattened for easy portability. This product features a "self-restoring" function that returns to its original shape with a light snap motion without the need for heat or electrical devices, and it has been selected for an excellent patent award due to these characteristics.

The recently controversial price was set at 13,000 won per piece and 25,000 won for a set of two. This price is considerably higher compared to the general market price of regular hair rollers, which ranges from 5,000 to 8,000 won. As a result, consumers have criticized it as "expensive."

Gu Hye-sun emphasized environmental considerations, saying, "Kurol is a product that eliminates more than 80% of the plastic compared to existing round hair rollers." She explained, "Unlike traditional round hair rollers that tangle and get dirty with hair, Kurol can be unfolded to easily remove hair and is self-restoring," adding, "It is durable and can be used permanently."

Some critics argued that the product's price includes the value of Gu Hye-sun's name, but other consumers defended it, saying, "The cost reflects the patented idea." Gu Hye-sun announced plans to offer discount events in the future so that consumers can purchase without burden.

Gu Hye-sun graduated from Sungkyunkwan University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in engineering at the KAIST Graduate School of Science Journalism, having graduated early. She recently gained attention by revealing the patent certificate for the hair roller she developed and the "Preliminary Venture Company Confirmation" she received from the Venture Business Association.

"Kurol" is receiving positive evaluations among consumers due to its structural features and eco-friendly elements. Attention is focused on how Gu Hye-sun's product will be received in the market going forward.
