Doyoung of Seventeen revealed his experience of nurturing his dream of becoming a singer through Yoon Do-hyun. On the 4th, the YouTube channel "Yoon Do-hyun's Guitar Etc." released a video titled "YB Yoon Do-hyun X Seventeen Doyoung Legend Collaboration." Doyoung explained that he first saw Yoon Do-hyun's stage performance in the second year of middle school and developed a dream of becoming a singer.

Doyoung said he was deeply impressed after watching Yoon Do-hyun's stage. He said, "'I Am a Singer' was so much fun to watch, and the first stage I saw was 'I Always Love You.' After that, hyung performed many powerful stages, and his energy was so cool. He looked so radiant." Because of this, Doyoung added, "I wanted to perform on stage like him."

Before that, Doyoung had no interest in music or the entertainment industry and mentioned, "I had no dreams. I liked meat, so I wanted to become a barbecue restaurant owner." He laughed and said that if it weren't for Yoon Do-hyun, he would have become a barbecue restaurant owner.

He also talked about his parents' reactions. Doyoung recalled, "My dad opposed it. Even if I wasn't good at studying, he told me not to give up," and "My mom said she would help because I didn't have many skills." He revealed that while attending a practical music academy, he watched the drama "Dream High" and decided to go to an arts high school. At that time, the academy director suggested the Pledis audition, and although Doyoung was not interested in becoming an idol, he participated in the audition at his mother's encouragement.

Doyoung spoke about his trainee life, saying, "Living in the dorm and getting close to the members made trainee life fun. At first, I almost quit, but I was able to endure because of the friendships." He added, "There were times I thought it was too hard and I couldn't do it, but my parents' support was a big help."

Doyoung also shared conversations reminiscing about those days while having a drink with the members. He said, "It was really tough back then," and emphasized, "When the members ask each other, 'If we could go back to that time, do you think we could do it again?' everyone says no. We worked that hard." He also mentioned that Seventeen was not a successful group from the start but grew steadily step by step.
