Isona crowned the final winner of 'Miss Trot 4'... breaks viewership record with 18.1% rating


Isona won the final Jin (眞) title of 'Miss Trot 4.' In the finals of TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot 4,' which aired on March 5, the top 5 trot queens (Gil Ryeowon, Yoon Tae-hwa, Hong Sung-yoon, Isona, Heo Chan-mi) competed in the last mission, the 'Life Song Mission,' by performing songs that represented their lives. According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 18.1%, setting a new personal best. The peak rating moment reached 18.4%.

The 'Miss Trot 4' finals were scored out of a total of 3,000 points. The master judges' scores accounted for 1,600 points, while the remaining 1,400 points were determined by public voting. The pre-online public support voting was scored out of 400 points, with the first place receiving 400 points and subsequent places receiving points with a 10-point decrement. The real-time text voting was scored out of 1,000 points, with the first place receiving 1,000 points and the others calculated proportionally based on the first-place vote count.

In the master judges' total scores, Heo Chan-mi ranked first with 1,583 points, Gil Ryeowon second with 1,578 points, Isona third with 1,572 points, Hong Sung-yoon fourth with 1,561 points, and Yoon Tae-hwa fifth with 1,533 points. The intermediate rankings were Heo Chan-mi with 1,973 points, Isona with 1,972 points, Gil Ryeowon with 1,948 points, Hong Sung-yoon with 1,941 points, and Yoon Tae-hwa with 1,893 points. The score difference between Heo Chan-mi and Isona at the intermediate stage was only one point, indicating a fierce competition.

The final real-time text vote count was 1,110,784 votes, of which 916,030 were valid. Isona received 256,310 votes, achieving a vote rate of 27.98%, overturning her second-place intermediate ranking to claim first place overall. Heo Chan-mi finished second, Hong Sung-yoon third, Gil Ryeowon fourth, and Yoon Tae-hwa fifth.

When Isona was announced as the final Jin, she broke down in tears on stage, and her husband and mother, watching from the audience, also shed tears. Isona said, "Although our circumstances are not abundant, I want to express my gratitude and thanks to my beloved family who have made many sacrifices. I will strive to be someone who can protect my family. Mom, please don't worry about me anymore." She said she wants to use the 300 million won prize money for her parents.

Isona chose Patti Kim's "Love is the Flower of Life" as her life song. After six years of challenging 'Miss Trot,' she advanced to the master preliminary round for the first time, showing deep filial piety toward her mother, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, touching the audience. That day, Isona was praised as "like AI" for her flawless performance, but she performed the stage comfortably and eventually broke down in tears. Jang Yoon-jung praised her, saying, "She is a contestant who has had a lot of emotional hardship. I wanted to see this kind of stage today."

Contestant number 1, Gil Ryeowon, passionately sang Joo Hyun-mi's "The King's Road," expressing the dream of a singer she practiced alone. Gil Ryeowon mentioned her experience as an audience member during 'Miss Trot 3' and showed emotion. She showcased her unique vocal ornamentation skills, and master Bae Ah-hyun praised her, saying, "From today, I will pass the title of the ornamentation cultural asset to Gil Ryeowon."

Contestant number 2, Yoon Tae-hwa, sang Lee Mi-ja's "Singing is My Life." Yoon Tae-hwa said, "During 'Miss Trot 2,' I had a hard time when my mother collapsed, and now it's a miracle that she is sitting in the audience." Kim Yong-im encouraged her, saying, "She looked happy singing with a smile."

Contestant number 3, Hong Sung-yoon, selected Lee Sun-hee's "Fate" and dedicated the stage to her grandmother. Hong Sung-yoon showed deep family love for his grandmother, moving the audience. Park Sun-joo said about Hong Sung-yoon, "It's admirable that he has come this far on this journey. He is an amazing vocalist."

Contestant number 5, Heo Chan-mi, performed Nam Jin's "It's Me." Heo Chan-mi has been on the rise after her fourth audition attempt, compensating for the past. On this stage, she presented highlights from the Produce 101 theme song "PICK ME" and the Five Dolls' title track "This and That," showcasing 16 years of history in one performance. Joo Young-hoon said, "Heo Chan-mi did it all alone. She showed everything she could on one stage."

'Miss Trot 4' is Korea's representative trot audition program, consistently ranking first in viewership ratings throughout the broadcast, showing an irreplaceable presence. Over four months, 'Miss Trot 4' captivated the eyes and ears of Korea and brought emotion. On March 12 at 10 PM, 'Miss Trot 4' will air with a variety retreat, along with spin-off programs, talk concerts, and a nationwide tour concert, which will be held sequentially.
