
Singer Lee Chan-won's nationwide tour concert "Chant: A Brilliant Day" in Gwangju was successfully completed. The performances took place at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center Multipurpose Hall in Seo-gu, Gwangju, on March 7 at 5 PM and March 8 at 3 PM. This concert is part of the newly launched nationwide tour following the 2024 Lee Chan-won concert "Chant."
The concert lasted approximately 197 minutes and included songs from the second full-length album "Brilliant (燦爛)," released last October. Accompanied by a grand band sound along with laser and lighting performances, Lee Chan-won appeared on the central stage riding a lift. At that moment, cheers chanting "Lee Chan-won" echoed throughout the audience.
Lee Chan-won opened the show with the title track "Somehow Today" and "Going to Meet You" from the new album "Brilliant." After greeting the audience with thanks for attending the Gwangju performance, he consecutively sang Nam Jin's "Sangsa Flower" and Na Hoon-a's "I'm Leaving, Right?" which drew enthusiastic responses from the crowd.
He continued to connect with the audience by performing nostalgic songs such as Cho Yong-pil's "The Winter's Teahouse" and Lim Joo-ri's "Applying Lipstick Thickly." Additionally, he intensified the concert's energy by singing "You and I Falling Like Leaves" from the new album "Brilliant," his own song "First Love," Cho Yong-pil's "Forgotten Love," and Jeon Young-rok's "Paper Crane" in succession.
Lee Chan-won offered a unique delight with "October's Poem," well known as a wedding congratulatory song, and the new song "Shining Star." Continuing with emotional stages through "Mother's Spring Day" and "Flower-like Days," he elevated the audience's excitement to its peak with "I Must Not Forget" and "Tess Hyung!"
During the "Adult Sensibility Retro Medley," songs including "First Love," "New Love Hill," "Love," "Brother," and "You Are My Man" were performed, showcasing Lee Chan-won's seasoned stage manner. He expressed gratitude by introducing each band member who performed alongside him.
Singing "Mother" accompanied by daegeum (Korean bamboo flute) performance, Lee Chan-won marked the concert's finale with Korean traditional-style songs "Three Rang" and "Jinttobaegi." Afterwards, he took photos to capture memories and concluded the main show with "Rock and Roll Life," a track from the new album.
Responding to fans' encore requests, he reignited the atmosphere by performing a sing-along medley of the top 5 songs people want to hear on New Year's Day. This was followed by the Gwangju medley featuring "Hwagejangteo," "Tears of Mokpo," "Namwon's Sorrow," "Rainy Honam Line," and "Southbound Train."
The encore medley included "Don't Pick a Fight," "Naejangsan," "Today Is the Youngest Day," and "Because I Am a Man," while the second encore medley featured "What's Wrong with My Age," "Chupungnyeong," "Hateful Man," "Crying Over Bakdaljae," and "Nest."
Finally, the third encore medley consisted of "Virgin Boatman," "Farewell Busan Port," "Hiding Tears," "Island Village Teacher," and "Soyanggang Virgin," followed by the fourth encore medley with "Take It," "Brother Is Doing Well," "Bye Bye," "That Woman's Mascara," and "Met Again." This extensive encore lineup matched the main concert in fullness, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
Lee Chan-won closed the Gwangju concert by singing "Seasonal Fate (時節因緣)." Lee Chan-won's nationwide tour concert "Chant: A Brilliant Day" will continue to cities including Daejeon and Seoul.
