Jenny of the group Black Pink has announced legal action in response to the spread of false information and invasion of privacy. On the 9th, Jenny's agency, OAE Entertainment, stated in an official position, "Malicious slander and baseless speculative posts about Jenny have recently been posted mainly on online communities and social media," and revealed that cases of defamation of the artist due to the spread of false information are continuously occurring.
The agency explained, "False posts based on content completely different from the facts are being spread, causing damage that defames Jenny's reputation," and added, "Acts that invade Jenny's privacy, such as disturbing her personal time or following her movement routes, are also increasing." They expressed that they are taking this situation very seriously.
OAE Entertainment said, "We are currently conducting continuous monitoring of SNS and online platforms overall to collect related materials," and announced that they are preparing legal action based on legal advice against acts that infringe on Jenny's honor and rights.
The agency emphasized, "We will take strong measures, including civil and criminal legal actions, against acts that infringe on Jenny's honor, rights, portrait rights, other intellectual property rights, and privacy." They made it clear that there will be no leniency or settlement in this process.
It is known that Jenny made this decision as cases of privacy invasion, such as persistent autograph requests from fans in Paris, France, have increased recently. Jenny departed for France on the 7th to attend Paris Fashion Week.
The agency also requested reports from fans, stating, "The materials reported by fans are a great help in the process of responding to protect the artist." They concluded their statement by promising continuous monitoring and systematic response to protect the artist.
Black Pink recently released their third album, "Deadline," and the issue of Jenny's privacy invasion has become an important matter in the relationship with fans. The agency stated that they will do their best to protect the rights and interests of both the artist and the fans.
