Singer Choi Yena released her fifth mini-album, 'LOVE CATCHER,' on the 11th at 6 PM through various music streaming platforms.
This album, 'LOVE CATCHER,' is a work that expresses the moments of love that come like a spring breeze with various emotions and colors. Choi Yena vividly revealed her unique musical color called 'Yena Core,' containing her own kitschy sensibility and honest stories.
The title track, 'Catch Catch,' is a lively song that captures the tension of a 'chasing and being chased' relationship over an electro-pop sound. The addictive melody and bouncy energy express the push and pull of love with Choi Yena's distinctive charm.
The track 'Because It's Spring (Feat. DinDin, Jung Hyung Don)' humorously unravels the confusing feelings of 'whether it's the excitement of spring or because of you.' Rapper DinDin and broadcaster Jung Hyung Don add witty advice from their perspectives, enhancing the listening experience. 'Sticker (Feat. YoonMachi (MRCH))' compares the emotions of a breakup, where a relationship easily ends with a single word, to a 'sticker,' leaving traces behind.
'April's Cat,' co-written by singer-songwriter Hanrolo, who is gaining attention as a 'Gen Z rockstar,' is a lyrical ballad that compares the narrator's feelings—wanting human warmth but hesitating to open their heart easily for fear of being alone again—to a cat. The final track, 'Question Mark (Feat. Paul Kim),' captures the subtle emotions just before love begins. The collaboration with vocalist Paul Kim, known for his delicate sensibility, adds depth to the song.
Through this album, Choi Yena expressed various moments of love with her unique sensibility and stories, showcasing an expanded musical color across diverse genres.
Before the album release, Choi Yena celebrated her comeback by holding a countdown live with fans one hour prior to the release.
