Singer-songwriter SOLE's third OST for JTBC's Friday series "Shining," titled "Empty Words," was released on the 13th at 6 PM through various online music platforms. "Empty Words" is a song that represents the feelings of the drama's main characters, featuring SOLE's voice softly murmuring as if in a monologue. Starting with only SOLE's voice from the introduction to the climax, the song delivers calm yet poignant emotions through a minimal but dense arrangement.
Music director Nam Hye-seung tried to exclude instruments as much as possible in the first verse, aiming to capture subtle emotions even in the singer's breathing. As a result, SOLE's straightforward appeal created an emotional OST that touches the viewers' hearts. Music director Nam Hye-seung and composer Park Jin-ho agonized over the song for several days, experimenting with various arrangement versions to effectively convey the intended emotions.
"Shining" is a work that tells the story of youth who become each other's trust and the light that guides the direction of their lives. It airs two consecutive episodes every Friday at 8:50 PM. The OST "Empty Words," featuring SOLE, is available on online music platforms from 6 PM on the same day.
