YUKI, a member of the group NEXZ, has sparked a conversation among fans by revealing the special reason why he doesn’t use the title ‘Hyung’ (older brother) for his fellow member SEITA.
In the recently released Episode 4 of NEXZ’s original content, ‘NEX2U,’ SEITA and YUKI sat down one-on-one to share their deepest thoughts. During the conversation, SEITA expressed curiosity rather than disappointment regarding the fact that YUKI does not call him ‘Hyung.’
In response, YUKI candidly admitted, “If I call you ‘Hyung,’ I feel a bit of a wall.” He added, “I feel much closer and more comfortable when I omit the formal title.” This moment revealed the youngest member’s adorable sincerity in wanting to maintain a friend-like intimacy rather than the distance sometimes created by Korea’s unique honorific culture.
SEITA responded to YUKI’s confession with a generous heart. He mentioned that he actually feels comfortable being around YUKI even without much talking, sharing a story from when they were roommates: “We are both the type who enjoy resting quietly.”
In fact, back when they were roommates, they were so quiet that they barely spoke except for morning greetings or saying they were turning off the lights. However, they shared that this silence became a great source of rest for both, showcasing their solid mutual trust.
Through this video, fans are sending enthusiastic support, saying, “The deep bond between the two seems more important than a title,” “The reason YUKI finds it awkward to say ‘Hyung’ actually feels very sweet,” and “The chemistry in NEXZ is endless.”
