Singer Young Tak touched the hearts of his fans by candidly sharing the ups and downs of his 22-year life in Seoul during a modest meal of Jhapagetti and Gat-kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi).
In a video released on his YouTube channel 'Park Young Tak' on the 18th, he reminisced about his debut with the OST for the 2005 film Marrying the Mafia II. He expressed the hardships of his early career, saying, "I moved to Seoul recklessly after winning a grand prize at a song festival, but I faced many breakups due to company circumstances." He lamented how groups he was part of, such as L-Class and J-Symphony, had to disband against his will.
Due to persistent hardships, Young Tak eventually put his singing career on hold and wrote a resume to earn a living. He revealed his past as a professor in the Department of Applied Music at a university, stating, "I got a job as a vocal trainer because I couldn't survive on irregular income." He shared a surprising story of seeking stability as an ordinary worker, saying, "I felt so happy when I received my first 'monthly salary' while working at both the school and an academy."
It was a chance encounter that brought him back to the stage just as he was adjusting to life as a teacher. A writer he had met during a previous appearance on Star King contacted him to appear on the Wheesung episode of Hidden Singer. Young Tak explained, "My singing instinct woke up again then," and described his relentless journey through hits like "Noona is the Best" and "Why are you coming out from there" to reach his current position.
Currently, Young Tak is enjoying his second heyday, actively working not only as a trot singer but also as a producer and YouTuber.
