BTS member RM recently sustained an injury. On the afternoon of the 20th, BTS held a live broadcast titled 'STUDIO NOTES | ARIRANG' through the fan platform Weverse. During the broadcast, RM said, "Actually, we were preparing for the concert together, and I worked especially hard that day for a great stage, which caused an ankle injury. It's not a serious injury. I will take good care of it to get better as much as possible before the concert. Still, I will get on stage and sing my best."
Regarding RM's ankle injury, J-Hope comforted him by saying, "We were also very surprised. But I think you must be more upset than us." V also expressed concern, saying, "Many people will be looking forward to the performance of all seven members, but I think hyung will be the most disappointed."
The agency BigHit Music explained RM's injury status through their official SNS. BigHit Music stated, "RM sustained an ankle injury during a rehearsal on the 19th and was taken to the hospital for detailed examination and treatment. The diagnosis was 'accessory navicular sprain and partial ligament tear, and talus contusion (ligament damage and inflammation).' After applying a leg cast, medical staff advised minimizing movement for at least two weeks to focus on recovery."
As a result, RM will have some restrictions on choreography and certain performances on stage. BigHit Music said, "Considering the medical staff's advice as the top priority and to prevent worsening of the injury, it was a difficult decision made together with the artist to minimize RM's movements during 'BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG.'"
They added, "Although there are limitations on the performance, RM will participate on stage as much as possible to connect with ARMY and the audience. Since everyone has been waiting a long time for this stage, we will do our best to show a heartfelt performance."
BigHit Music emphasized that RM's health and safety are their highest priority and that they will spare no effort to support RM's full recovery so he can resume activities in full form. The BTS members are also preparing the performance with their best efforts, and they ask for much support and interest.
BTS is returning with their 5th full-length album 'ARIRANG.' They will hold a comeback performance on the afternoon of the 21st around Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. A large-scale concert will take place from Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun to the square. This marks BTS's first comeback as a full group in about 3 years and 9 months.
