Currently, Kim Yong Bin and Chun Gil, both holding six golden stars and tied for first place, are drawing attention as potential winners of the inaugural "Golden Cup." The episode recorded a 4.3% viewership rating according to Nielsen Korea, with a peak rating of 4.5%. This result ranked first among daily general programming and cable shows.
In the first round, the "Gochutgarudan" appeared, showing efforts to prevent Kim Yong Bin and Chun Gil from winning the Golden Cup. Son Bin Ah dominated the atmosphere with powerful vocals while singing "Borikkogae." Chun Gil raised concerns, stating, "There was no sense of lack in the song." Some audience members commented that "the song felt oily," while the original singer Jinseong praised, "I can't even sing like this. My ears were delighted." The karaoke master awarded Son Bin Ah a perfect score of 100, recognizing her skill.
Going second, Chun Gil selected "Naega Baboya," delivering a stage that highlighted the charm of trot. Jinseong evaluated, "It was perfectly executed," but the karaoke master gave a score of 95. Chun Gil left with regrets, overshadowed by Son Bin Ah's outstanding performance.
In the second round, a battle between Cheon Rok Dam and Choo Hyeokjin took place. Cheon Rok Dam chose "Ul Eomma," scoring 98 points and showing confidence. Meanwhile, Choo Hyeokjin performed Jinseong's "Geu Nom-ui Jeong," but received the lowest score of 86 from the karaoke master. Cheon Rok Dam secured five golden stars, pursuing Kim Yong Bin and Chun Gil.
The third round featured a contest among Oh Yoo-jin, Kim Yong Bin, and the "Maggie Singer." Oh Yoo-jin sang "Sogeumkkot," expressing poignant feelings toward her father, earning a high score of 99. Going second, Kim Yong Bin selected Cho Yong-pil's "Geu Gyeoul-ui Chatjip," but scored only 87, leaving some disappointment. The identity of the "Maggie Singer" was revealed as "Trot Special Forces" Park Gun, who scored a perfect 100 with "Dongjeon Insaeng," surpassing Oh Yoo-jin's 99 points in a dramatic twist.
In the fourth round, Jeong Seo-ju and Nam Seung-min competed. Jeong Seo-ju scored 98 with "Nim Chajaganeun Gil," while Nam Seung-min responded with "Gajima." Both scored 98, failing to earn golden stars.
In the final fifth round, Choi Jae Myeong faced Bae Ah-hyun. Choi Jae Myeong made a strong impression with a perfect score of 100 for "Gidohamnida," while Bae Ah-hyun scored 98 with "Motnan Nom." This episode created tension with unexpected scores and variables unfolding one after another. Expectations are rising as to who will become the first Golden Cup winner.
