
Actress Lee Na-young delivered a successful performance in the drama "Honor: Her Court." The drama concluded on the 10th, with Lee Na-young playing the role of Yoon Ra-young. This was her first time challenging a genre drama in her 28 years since debut. "Honor" is a mystery thriller about three female lawyers confronting a massive scandal from the past, based on a Swedish drama.
Lee Na-young gave a powerful performance as a lawyer representing victims of sexual crimes. She received praise especially for convincingly portraying the complex emotions of a character who gave birth to a daughter after experiencing dating violence 20 years ago. The drama ended on a high note, recording a high viewership rating close to 5%.
In an interview with Star News, Lee Na-young expressed gratitude for the warm response to "Honor." She said, "I am glad that many people empathized. I was very worried since it was my first time doing a genre drama." She revealed that she studied related materials and consulted with the director and writer to deeply consider how to express emotions for the role of Yoon Ra-young. Lee Na-young explained, "Yoon Ra-young had to hide her wounds and trauma, so I was careful in expressing that."
Lee Na-young mentioned that she learned a lot through "Honor." She emphasized, "I wanted to convey the message that it is important to wait for and listen to people who have wounds," adding, "This drama contains hope that recovery is possible."
She also gave a positive evaluation of her chemistry with Jung Eun-chae and Lee Cheong-ah. Lee Na-young said, "They are actors I have supported for a long time, so it was amazing to meet them," and added, "Our personalities matched well, so a sense of solidarity naturally formed." She revealed that they promised to meet through a group chat, showing that their relationship is becoming close.
It is said that Lee Na-young's husband, Won Bin, was curious about her acting while watching "Honor." Lee Na-young laughed, saying, "Won Bin was trying to gauge the development and was watching carefully." She stated that they do not have deep conversations about their works and tend to tease each other like friends.
Lee Na-young also shared the reaction of her son, born after her marriage in 2015. She said, "(My son) wanted to watch 'Honor,' but I stopped him because it is rated 15 and older," adding, "He is amazed by the work his mom appeared in."
