
Lee Young-ae and Yoo Ji-tae reunite in the drama "Jae-i's Young-in." The production company IWill Media announced on the 23rd that the two actors have been cast as the leads of the drama. This marks their first collaboration in 25 years since the 2001 film "Springtime."
"Jae-i's Young-in" tells the story of a man and a woman who share similar pains and learn how to live together. It is a mystery romance genre where two people left alone in the world fall in love, revealing tangled fates and hidden truths. The drama is expected to provide viewers with a strong sense of immersion.
Lee Young-ae plays Ju Young-in, an art teacher and painter grieving the loss of her son. She is a character who continues her life by painting murals every sleepless dawn, and Lee Young-ae's delicate emotional expression is expected to convey both strength and vulnerability simultaneously.
Yoo Ji-tae takes on the role of Shin Jae-i, the head of an architecture firm. His character possesses a pure boyish charm and a free spirit, but experiences dissociative amnesia, leading to confusion and fractures as the truth gradually unfolds. Yoo Ji-tae is set to deliver a powerful character with his overwhelming presence and wide acting range.
IWill Media stated, "The clash between two characters with deep narratives will create a dense emotional line." The acting ensemble of Lee Young-ae and Yoo Ji-tae is expected to enhance the drama's immersion.
The drama is directed by Oh Ki-hwan, who directed the film "The Art of Work." He has previously worked with Lee Young-ae on the film "The Gift." The script is written by Jo Eun-jung, known for "Hotel King" and "Feast of the Gods," adding strength to the narrative. IWill Media has produced several well-made works such as "Return," "Moon That RIIZEs in the Day," and "Witch's Court."
