Hwang Bora frustrated by 'follicle generation failure' two months after IVF procedure

Actress Hwang Bo-ra revealed the pain she experienced during the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process. On the 24th, a video titled "Emergency Room Visit During IVF Injections, Should I Give Up? IVF Side Effects, Infertility Vlog" was posted on her YouTube channel 'Hwang Bo-ra Boriety.' Hwang Bo-ra stated that it has been two months since she started IVF treatment to conceive her second child.

Hwang Bo-ra expressed great disappointment over the lack of follicle development. She said, "I didn't expect it to happen quickly, but I never imagined that no follicles would develop for two months. I think I'm feeling a bit depressed right now." Every time she visited the hospital, she held hope, but the results fell short of her expectations. The medical staff explained that they needed to monitor follicle growth further, leading to repeated cycles of inducing menstruation and hormone regulation.

After starting the IVF injections, Hwang Bo-ra had to administer the shots herself at home following training at the hospital. From the moment she received the injections, she complained of severe pain, saying, "It really hurts," and "Today is the worst." Her son, Woo-in, showed concern as he watched his mother get the injections, saying, "Mom, it hurts. Dad, please come quickly."

On the fourth day of injections, Hwang Bo-ra developed pimples on her face, and over time, her skin troubles and swelling worsened. She revealed, "It's been a week since the injections, but the swelling continues. My lymph nodes are also very swollen," adding, "I'm completely battered right now." In the video, her face, hands, and body were noticeably swollen, and her abdomen was covered with repeated injection marks and bruises.

Eventually, Hwang Bo-ra contacted the medical staff and was advised to stop the growth hormone injections first. She said, "For now, I will pause the IVF injections." However, stopping the injections did not immediately improve her condition. The swelling did not subside easily, and she had to wear an eye patch due to a torn right cornea. She said, "My family also told me to stop, but since I've already had injections for a week, I want to keep trying," showing her determination toward having a second child.

Hwang Bo-ra expressed her sincere desire for a second child, saying, "There's no time to be sad. There's no time to be depressed." She married Cha Hyun-woo, son of actor Kim Yong-gun and younger brother of Ha Jung-woo, in 2022, and they have one son, Woo-in. Hwang Bo-ra's candid confession has resonated with many people.
