Hwang Young Woong chose a fan meeting instead of a nationwide local government festival... "Fans' hearts over honor and money"

Trot singer Hwang Young Woong is drawing attention for prioritizing meetings with fans despite requests to perform at local government festivals across the country.

As the spring festival season begins, competition among local governments to book trot singers is intensifying, and Hwang Young Woong is reported to have received over 20 event proposals. Approximately 12,000 spectators gathered to watch Hwang Young Woong's performance at the Gangjin Celadon Festival held on February 28, proving his popularity. This festival, now in its 54th year, is said to rarely attract such a large audience for a single singer's performance. This has further heated up the competition among local governments.

However, Hwang Young Woong decided to participate in nationwide fan meetings led by fans, centered around the official fan cafe 'Paradise,' instead of large stages. This choice is known to stem from regret and gratitude for not being able to communicate sufficiently with fans at the Gangjin Celadon Festival due to safety reasons. After the event, no separate fan greeting schedule was arranged based on the judgment of the organizers and security company.

Through the fan cafe, Hwang Young Woong shared a handwritten letter saying, "I will follow the hearts of my fans over honor and money."

The nationwide fan meetings planned by fans will be held sequentially in 15 regions across the country from April 16 in Ulsan until July.
