BTS will conduct a stadium tour in five South American cities starting this October.
On the 28th, BTS announced the detailed schedule of the "WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN LATIN AMERICA" through the fan platform Weverse. The tour will take place in a total of 11 shows in major South American cities including Bogotá, Colombia; Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. All venues are stadium-sized, and this is the first time BTS will visit Colombia, Peru, and Argentina as a complete group.
Member Jin previously participated as a guest on Coldplay's world tour stage in Buenos Aires in October 2022, where he performed his first solo song, "The Astronaut."
The Peruvian daily newspaper El Comercio reported on BTS's Lima concert, describing BTS as "one of the most influential cultural phenomena of the 21st century." The outlet predicted that this tour would have a positive impact on the local economy beyond being just a music event.
BTS's world tour has sold out all seats in various regions including Goyang, Tokyo Dome in Japan, North America, and Europe. According to Live Nation, approximately 2.4 million tickets were sold across 41 shows held in North America and Europe.
Meanwhile, BTS's fifth full-length album "Arirang," released on the 20th, ranked number one on the UK Official Albums Chart, and the title track "SWIM" reached number two on the Official Singles Chart. Both the album and the title track also ranked high on the French Music Association, the official German music charts, and the Australian ARIA charts.
Including this South American tour, BTS has announced a total of 81 shows in 34 cities.
